"Small gem in Bellinzona, ordered the house menu with 7 course, everything was delicious and well balanced. Good wine card with many options from Switzerland, Italy, France and some selection offered by the glass. We had to wait a little at the beginning but after...ordering the service was perfect. Good price for the quality offered."

"Firstly I must say that the '3 ' rating is purely because of the attitude of the proprietor when I had had the audacity to query my bill. The food was excellent. Rabbit as you 've never tasted it before, with a beautiful red wine and rosemary sauce very strong on the rosemary delicious. This was a birthday celebration for my wife. Unfortunately the evening was spoiled by an 'error ' on the bill. We were visiting Bellinzona as part of a group tour, breakfast and dinner included, and had to cater for ourselves that evening conveniently. The restaurant had been recommended and table booked for us by a very nice lady who was our guide on a tour of Locarno. Now I don 't speak much, if any, Italian but understand enough to know what 'romantico ' means. Our table was anythng but 'romantico ' but never mind. To begin with, after being seated we were offered a glass of white wine. We thought that we 'd mad it understood that we 'd prefer red but white we got language barrier or colour blindness? We went for the former. My wife doesn 't (apart from the odd glass of wine drink alcohol and requested a glass of water with her meal. It was not forthcoming (language barrier again? but was charged on the final bill. Also on the bill was a charge for the two glasses of wine. Then a credit, then a charge for two glasses of wine at a price two Swiss Francs higher! I wanted to know what the cost of a glass of wine actually was but the language barrier (conveniently? got in the way again. The two Francs was deducted (reluctantly? from the total but the proprietor appeared to take umbrage when advised that my wife hadn 't received the glass of water that we were being charged five Francs for! He snatched up the bill, took it away and returned with a new one seven Francs lower. I agreed to pay it and tendered my card. Our host wanted to charge my card in 's Sterling. I wanted to pay in Francs and let Visa decide on the cost. Whether it was because his machine was acting up or the language barrier was getting in the way, again, or he was just a bit cheesed off by now I don 't know but he tore the transaction slip from the machine, slammed it on the table and with a curt goodbye flounced off. Needless to say he didn 't get a tip and we didn 't get a 'goodnight ' on the way out."

"We arrived spontaneously for lunch at 1 o'clock and discovered it better to reserve as the place was full. The staff was polite and gave us the next free table after about 15 or 20 minutes. I ordered the sliced Bratbeef (Robispierre) that had a kind of pesto sauce with herbs, which was excellent. Grottos in Tessin are a long tradition of simple restaurants for the municipality with smaller menus, but great food, and this place was no exception. We would definitely go back on the next occasion."

"What a surprise! We loved the food, the roast beef was great, it was cut thin with a delicious sauce. The fillet mignon was cooked for perfection very rarely as I requested. The waiters were very friendly and nice with my children. They even gave them free gelatos that were the best gelatos I ever tasted! Try them strawberry and cream flavor."

"Eating is really not delicious. for this price you will find many more restaurants that are much better in bellinzona. risotto and gnocchi without taste, catastrophic. I add 1 star for the wine, it was very good, but c`mon can drink them good wee almost everywhere! waste money, waste time."

"I left before I even ordered. I sat outside. The waiter shouted greetings to me from the door, without coming closer. I shouted to him that I would like to order to eat and he gave me the sheet with the menu of the day. I asked if it was just that and he said no, they do everything. I then asked what this everything was. He replied everything is everything. What do you want? . I told him I didn 't know what they did for food. He then said to me Do you want the card? . I pointed out to him that normally you always give the card to a customer who claims to have sat there for lunch. He came back annoyed giving me the menu and I left. Using the form of politeness with a lady would be appreciated, and if he can 't put aside his sulking he could at least pretend to be polite. Horrible experience. To never again."
