"I was thinking this place would be good given there are two other branches in central London… very wrong, I assume this is a case of being a sub-par franchise. Ordered Steak Chips, Brisket Burger and a Caesar Salad. Steak was ordered medium, was over cooked and wellington boot chewy, inedible. Chips were hard and the peppercorn sauce microwaved and hotter than molten lava. The Brisket Burger was an overload of sauce, sloppy. And then there’s the Caesar salad with its bitter vinegar sauce, akin to something a student at university would put together. I was not going to write this review, but the “that’s how you ordered it” attitude of staff combined with no attempt to make the situation, when faced with entirely uneaten plates, any better led me to, don’t make the same error of judgement that I did. (2 stars because the food came out in a good time and the restaurant was clean/pleasant)"

"Was looking forward for lunch at the metro lounge with a friend I haven’t seen in a while. The customer service was not to normal standard. Being ask at my age (over 50) not to tear the paper menu up! Not even a hello welcome to metro lounge, how can I help you. Had to get up a number of times to get service even though not that busy. Breakfast items at bar to be sold to public not covered up. On the upside food was ok."

"We stopped here for lunch while on a Hike in the area. We were a big group (approx 20) and they were amongst the few pubs happy to have us. As it was a nice sunny day we sat outside, and as per the pictures, it's a pleasing sight, with the pond, the bridge and loads of character. The pub on the inside too is full of character. Staff are a happy bunch too. Food was served with no issues and came out really quickly, which was perfect as we were all starving. Finally, coming to the food this is where I'd mark them down. It's not the greatest food and is simply quite un loved! Mine was fish with some steamed veggies, which were quite overdone, and not much in terms of flavour. Others who had veggie burgers were also underwhelmed with their dishes. So if anything, would be nice to have food that also leaves a smile on the customers face. It is value for money, but I'd rather pay for nice food."

"Eldest pub in england with dated proff. beautiful staff, eating was excellent, and each piece of the pub looked like a museum! we loved it there a public walk near for a walk (30 minute or 2h full of birds and wildlife). we have also learned a lot from the beautiful staff available. has tried a new Scottish beingeschirr and a fine ale! we'll be back!"
