"This place is on the eastern edge of Laguiole. It's conveniently located next to the big free car parking area but don't go for the food. It's mainly a bar and apparently only serves food in summer. The charcuterie du pays dish was a refrigerated plate of pre cut meats that had been sitting in the fridge for hours. As was the salad. But if all you want is a bowl of chips and a beer, then it may be fine for you."

"If you like delicious local food this is the place to eat at Laguiole. Yes, it is crowded but service is fast and very attentive. We had the faux fillet for two people accompanied with French fries and a hearty portion of aligot as well as the accompanying sauces and the local L’Aubrac beer. The meat was perfect and the aligot which is velvety mashed potatoes with cheese and garlic amazing. There is also a small shop that you can buy local products. Don’t miss this place!"

"Menus at a good range of prices considering the quality of the food. I went for the top end menu, which consisted of foie gras, escargots, sardines, fish (St Pierre), veal, fresh goat's cheese and a strawberry dessert, all of which I have eaten before...but all with twists and combinations that I had not experienced before. Portion sizes for this tasting menu were just right, and the presentation was beautifully executed. I stayed here mainly for the food and was not disappointed. Good wine list with some wines by the glass and some half bottles, always useful for the solo traveller. Service was excellent."

"The food is wonderfully presented, the restaurant views amazing and the restaurant grounds full of wildflowers. Service was mostly very good. I must admit I was expecting to be wowed slightly more given the restaurants reputation. Whilst all the dishes were good, only the first...salad dish (very pretty mix of wild flowers and herbs) was the only dish to surprise. The rest were very very good, but not as ground-breaking as say a restaurant such as L’enclume. Service was a bit slow at first – it took a while for the menu and amuse-bouche to arrive and the order taken. Once seated service was smooth, as you would expect. We opted for the nine course menu. You won’t leave hungry – portion sizes were actually quite large. Overall a good experience, and worth the money, but I was expecting to be amazed, which unfortunately I wasn’t."
