"We had Cabrito assado à D. Emilia . This was very good indeed. In any case, I recommend going for one of the dishes in the day 's menu, this should be faster and tastier. Not so good on desserts."

"We had the best lamb dish we have had in Europe for 2 months! It is a family run business and Mom cooks the food, father and two of their daughters serve it. Tiny place, affordable and excellent food and the service was attentive and very friendly. We would make point of going back here to see them again and for the food. And don't forget to try Mom's homemade coffee cake not sure what it is called, but it was exquisite. Good variety on menu lamb, goat, eels, chicken, river fish, cod, regional wines. They also do breakfast and lunch as well as dinner been doing so over 30 years."

"This was like most small town cafes. The difference was that they patrons spoke Portuguese. It was a convivial atmosphere. The food was unexpected. The hamburger was topped with ham and cheese, so much so that those flavors dominated the beef. The tuna salad had an abundance of tune with hearts of palm, onions and tomatoes. Coupled with some fries, this was more than we wanted or needed. The salad could easily be shared. We were served a local low end red from the Duero. It was very, very good and unlikely ever to find its way to the States."

"We asked what was included in the menu of the day and the waiter said everything. When he brought bread and butter and olives and dried ham-none of which we ordered-before the entree we assumed this was the appetizer part of the day 's menu and ate it, as we were hungry. We got charged extra for all this stuff, including .80 for the pat of butter, as well as for the tea after our meal (at least he asked if we wanted that....at which point we should have verified whether it was included with the price of the meal). We didn 't feel like making a fuss so paid the unexpected extra $10, but left feeling like we had been taken by a seemingly attentive waiter."
