"Camminata e vista stupenda ma la ferrovia é chiusa fino a 2017. Beautiful walk and breathtaking view, but the train and all the infrastructure are closed for renovation until 2017! The walk down to Mendrisio or Maroggia is almost 3 hours."

"What a sound! the owners were very friendly, we sat at a table with a view of the valley. patio with tree and reben. we had the osso buco and cepes, with polenta and risotto. what a meal! fabulous and would recommend 100% others."

"Excellent food, excellent wine,great atmosphere, friendly people.Arrived in a very packed day, even if we did not had a reservation they gently offered seats at the bar, which we promptly accepted and were ready after a nice walk in the pedestrian area of mendrisio.We got a specialty of the day with some wine from Sicily. The way in which the manager has explained what we were being offered was just amazingly nice.Menu is outstanding, wine assortment incredible.This is a great place !"

"You have to look for it and it’s not easy to get there by car, but it’s how a real grotto used to be. Tables are arranged under big trees and you can enjoy the breeze in hot summer days and a great view over the southers tip of lake Lugano. They offer a good mix of traditional dishes, local produce and Italian dishes."

"This is a lovely place, with great service and delicious food. We spent our Easter lunch with a couple of friends and really enjoyed the special menu. We felt very welcome (even though none of us speak Italian). The area around the Osteria is also quite scenic with plenty of paths for small hikes and walks. We will come back in summer as soon as we get the chance!"

"Friendly welcome! the environment is typical of a country tavern, tablecloths and paper napkins and an incredible noise that can become annoying with the time going. we had lunch with a pheasant terrine, which was good, but the salad that was a contour did not fit. gnocchi, with cream sauce and mushrooms, were very soft and the mushrooms were excellent. The intrecôte, which the master showed me before the ordination, was cooked to the blood as desired and very good mushrooms. only the green beans that were bordering were not exciting. the only sweet possible was a tart with vanilla ice cream: it has disappointed me a little. the tavern is a stone's throw from the züst foundation."
