"Not a fancy romantic restaurant, now called Indian Cottage, but what they have is generous portions, really well-cooked food (flavourful but not too spicy), and outstanding service. I found the butter chicken too sweet but my partner loved it. We both thought the lamb saag was a standout. We will definitely be back!"

"Worst meal ever! My mixed veggies was a plate of broccoli. Asked for the manager, at first they said he was busy then came back with his email lol. Table too close to a brick pillar, always hitting my arm. Waitress was rude and argued. Awful place, not a real Earls Update: After Stephanie asked me to contact her which I did she said she would contact management and get back to me That was weeks ago and I haven't heard a thing from her. I guess she was hoping the problem would somehow go away. Since this review I have been to Earls in Regina And Calgary, they were both amazing I am back in Whitehorse and popped in to see if anything had changed and I might give them a chance. After sitting at a table for minutes I wasn't even offered a drink so I walked out Same lousy service!!!! Avoid!"

"Not just good Italian staples but good food all round catering for gluten and dairy free. Our party of covered all of these. Just don't ask for gluten free bread as that was a disappointment and was charged extra. The food was great so two...pizzas for the boys, market fish and gnocchi for the ladies. All were superb. Wine choices were also very good. I am reading some of the negative reviews which surprise me so I guess we had the A service team."

"I reviewed this popular restaurant several years ago and gave it happily four stars. I raved about a delicious steak and my wife's yummy dish. This time I once again had a porterhouse steak hoping for similar culinary experience but was disappointed. Just an ordinary...steak, not even tender nad touch on the well done side although when ordering I emphasised medium rare. For $34.90 you expect a decent cut. My wife's dish, House-made pan fried gnocchi, was again very good. The place was extremely noisy! It was noisy to such a degree that we were unable to hold conversation and therefore left as soon as we finished our meals. Yes, we were there on a Friday and it is the busiest time, but still, the noise contributed significantly to us not enjoying the afternoon. So, perhaps it is time now to explore some other eating places in East Melbourne."

"Was part of a large table booking for a celebration. Didn't hold much hope having read reviews. Firstly, the staff were absolutely wonderful! Very patient, always with a genuine smile and very fast service. Only comment is they assumed we knew the ordering process etc, no explanation and left us to flounder at the start.The a la carte all you can eat food itself was a hit and miss. Noodles were probably the worst being really salty and with an unpleasant taste. The raw fish didn't taste very fresh but the platters came out with a good rice ratio. Agadeshi tofu was pleasantly silky but anemic looking. We all loved the tempura! Delicate, not oily and was very light. Miso eggplant was delicious. The octopus balls were a huge let down for some of us as there didn't seem to be any octopus. Lovely batter not oily but seemed like just mashed potato or something. Dumplings were delicious too!3 dessert choices. Vanilla ice-cream, green tea ice-cream and black sesame ice-cream. Vanilla was unlimited but latter 2 restricted to 1 per person. Skip the sickly sweet vanilla but do try the other 2. Delicious! It was fun trying everything out. Better in a group so can have more opportunity to try dishes. There are warnings wastage will be charged. Can ask for items to be for ie. 2 people otherwise they will bring enough for the whole table."

"We've tried a number of things off their menu and have some favourites and some that we won't bother ordering again. Unfortunately it tends to be the cantonese dishes that are really boring and lacking in flavour. I'll start with the good items. We've enjoyed the egg rolls, beef and broccoli, lemon chicken, dry garlic spareribs, and the egg foo yung. The fried rice is decent. The chow mein is a bit lacking in flavour.As for the cantonese items, the Kung Po Guy Ding was bland, as was the Moo Goo Guy Pan.They are usually very fast if you are ordering take-out and portion size seems reasonable."
