"Good service and vgood food at the Portreath Arms. Family group of 8 inc two children 6&3. Came 12 months ago and whilst food was ok service was very poor. They have really got there act together and the food was very good. Fresh fish on the menu and decent selection for vegetarians too. Service was friendly and helpful and some good beers too. Very much recommended but because it’s so busy you clearly need to book."

"We ate here last night as a family of four. We were booked for half seven but when we arrive our table was not ready. We had booked a window table but in the end we ended up the furthest point from the window, which...was disappointing. The place is beautiful inside and the staff were good and attentive. But our food took almost 45 minutes to arrive. The food went down well apart from the disappointment of cold chicken on the ceaser salad The team were apologetic for the the wait. But overall not not the most positive experience."

"Absolutely the best I ever had. I am gluten-free and find it difficult to eat, but full traces in this restaurant. staff very friendly and friendly. if you want a Fab meal, then this is the place to go, gluten-free or not."

"I would highly recommend the Shorecrest Restaurant. The food was really lovely but what made the meal was the wonderful, friendly and attentive staff, in particular Jules. She made our evening and we will definitely be returning. Working in a customer facing job myself you appreciate good staff and Jules is definitely that!! Massive thanks."

"Our second visit to the Firehouse this evening, and it was a culinary delight once again! Incredible food, packed with flavour, and all the while sitting amongst the gem that is St Ives. Book a table, you won’t regret it! Thank you again to all the staff for an excellent evening meal"

"The service and quality of food at this restaurant were second to none. We were welcomed most warmly and seated at the bar, from where we were able to see at all times what was being cooked. The duty manager was really friendly and attended to us regularly, making sure that everything was too our satisfaction, as he did with the other guests, who filled the establishment. Even the chefs were extremely pleasant. All aspects of this bistro are worth full marks in my view (price, atmosphere, service, etc) and I would have no hesitation in returning during a future visit to St. Ives."

"I dont know much about this place but food only was a let down from the outset they was vary busy and told they what we can and eat and can not eat due to allergic reactions. to fruit vegetable but i thought they understood about food but how wrong was i i have cooked for so so many years and never had food so bad. let me start saying beef was like it been stewed or been in hot water not nice one bit but vary bad solid Yorkshire puddings its so dyed out and gravy was to much water but there was some sort of thing one the plate that i cart describe but did not look nice but my first and last time"
