"Went for our anniversary and had one of the best meals (and drinks) we ever had! The service was outstanding and the patio was clean and romantic. We will definitely be back!"

"Civilized. Needed to eat a very early dinner near the Capitol. Ordered a salmon/crab appetizer, gnocchi, and short ribs. All had fine flavor although rib dish (served with mashed potatoes and vegetables) could have used more contrast in texture. Meals include salad. Pecan bread pudding did have nice texture contrast. Staff obliging in helping us meet appointment time; general atmosphere that of a refined neighborhood bistro. Quiet at 5:00. UPDATE APRIL 2013: Lovely brunch of salmon on potato pancake with creme fraiche and a veggie fritatta. Only downer was a doughy cinnamon roll with too much goo and not enough spice. Very civilized ambiance."

"We were traveling through Salt Lake City from New England and after reading several glowing reviews we just had to visit. It was AWESOME. At first glance it's just a hip bar in downtown Salt Lake City, but if you make a reservation for dinner it's SO much more. We checked in with the host who unlocked a door at the back of the bar and escorted us down an ornate hallway and down into a dimly lit lounge that had leather booths and a really cozy intimate vibe. There was a record player playing music and a ton of records stacked around it that guests could pick from. It honestly felt like we were part of a secret underground club fitting based on the history of Utah. The food and drinks were unique and DELICIOUS. When our beer can chicken came out we were drooling the flavor was unreal. The warm potato salad was full of flavor and we even Googled if we could take the left overs to go on our flight home. LOL! The flavor didn't end there, we also ordered coffee and the classic beignets for dessert and they were delicious. So sweet and so warm. The staff was super friendly and attentive. Our server was Jonas he was awesome and put up with my husbands dad jokes!! We also noticed that the restaurant thought of so many little details, like giving us a card that listed how to make the drink we ordered. The Rest is a definitely something you need to experience."

"We are regulars for good reason.
Michelangelo's has been our favorite neighborhood restaurant for over a decade. We were skeptical when they moved locations and changed the vibe. Luckily, we love the feel of this place! Everyone is friendly and mostly knowledgeable. And, if they don't know the answer to your question they quickly ask the chef so you can get an accurate answer.
My husband and I moved here from NYC. So, finding good Italian food is our thing!
Everything we have ever had here has been phenomenal! Here's our list of favorites: Gnocchi Pomodora (with a side of Gorgonzola), Chicken Picata, Michelangelo Club, Butternut Squash Ravioli, Carpaccio, all of their soups (esp the Tomato Basil), Veggie Panini, and the LASAGNA! I love that their Gnocchi are small and pillow like (not dense) and plentiful- I can only eat half on a good day. My husband loved that the Chicken is pounded thin to perfection just like is Napoleon Grandma used to do. My daughter and I are addicted to their Tomato Basil soup and actually ask the manager to call us eat time the chef makes it. In addition, their wine list and bar selection is quite good!
I've read that service is an issue for some. I understand if you wait too log for water. But, what patrons need to realize is that this is not "fast food". They are whipping up sauces and dishes as they are ordered. This is a place to sit back with friends and family and enjoy your time together while your food is being expertly prepared. NOT the place to cram in a meal before a movie!
Our server this weekend was Holly. She was friendly, attentive and a very informative for the newbies in our group. Last week we had one of their new servers, Cass. He was totally on the ball and made sure we were well taken care of. We recently watched Holly serve a very "high maintenance" rude couple. She was nothing but polite and made sure to have water filled and food to the table in a faster manner than normal. I was impressed because I was about to lose it on this couple! But she was professional and courteous.
I obviously love this place and would recommend it to anyone!"

"Very classy establishment, attached to Hotel Monaco. There is public parking on the street and the hotel has a parking garage as well... I need to stress that I came here for Brunch, which is quite less expensive than their Dinner options, so keep that in mind when you are making plans. Salmon Benedict server said it's one of his favorite things on the menu, so why not? It looked and smelled divine. The salmon was, surprisingly, not the usual smoked lox. It seemed to be an actual grilled filet... I am not the biggest bread connoisseur, but I really appreciated the use of warm, crisp ciabatta in lieu of the usual generic English muffin. It was a nice change of pace..."
