"I feel that some of the reviews for Seckford are a little harsh and pretty unfair. We spent one night at Seckford this February and couldn’t fault it. The building is stunning outside and equally stunning inside. The staff were always welcoming and friendly. We took a standard double room, it was lovely, not huge but had a lovely 4 poster bed with a couch and a lovely bathroom with a bath! We had lunch and breakfast, food was lovely. I had pancakes for breakfast and my hubbie had the smoked haddock and eggs and it was beautiful. The floors are a little creaky, there’s no elevator and some windey staircases, but this is a period building so of course there’s no elevator, the stairs add to the charm! The grounds are really pretty and are nice to stroll around! The pool wasn’t open but it does state pretty clearly on all of the correspondence we had with the hotel that the pool isn’t open so this was no surprise so don’t really feel people can complain that they weren’t aware of this. Honestly when I read the previous reviews I was a little nervous but actually was really happy with our stay! Lovely hotel and would definitely recommend!"

"We regularly dine at the Dennington Queen and have always been so full of praise for Jon, Lorna and their team. Service always fantastic, food always spot on, and without fail, always a wonderful atmosphere. Sunday lunch is always great, and the sticky toffee pudding is just brilliant."

"We had a lovely meal and evening. The food was well seasoned and very well cooked. The service was attentive and friendly. Dog friendly. The focaccia was the only disappointing dish. The main issue (that other reviewers have mentioned) is the price. Almost everything is overpriced (and I live in London)."

"We stayed at the hotel last night and enjoyed a delicious dinner and breakfast! I’m vegan and I felt there was a great variety of choice for me including alcoholic drinks! I had an amazing falafel and humous starter, a vegetable curry and a gorgeous...chocolate cake for desert. I couldn’t fault a single dish! My other half had soup and steak. He said it was the best steak he had ever had and was cooked to perfection! We also enjoyed breakfast this morning which was just as amazing! We will absolutely be returning soon! High quality food for an excellent price, in a stunning location with amazing friendly and helpful staff. Keep up the good work!"

"There are many vegetarian options and a few vegan options here. eating is really nice and the portions are generous. I had the confit garlic and lemon houmous to start with flatbread and the falafel burger with chips for main. amazing search for vegan in a small rural village! the atmosphere is beautiful and the staff is very friendly."
