"I came here without booking with my friend and 3 dogs. ordered the cheese board for £20 it was huuuuuge! so much so i had some boxed up and taken home ready for the next days meal. the place wasn't too busy and the staff were polite. i would say the pints of coke are expensive, so i wouldn't have that again. but other than that i would come back to sample some more food."

"We are here 5 or 6 times for eating and are never disappointed. pampering eating too good trips, we can't mistake it. Sunday afternoons are amazing, but this time it was a Saturday lunch. we had to take a walk through tissington afterwards to work out something! it is a 45-minute drive from home, but never disappointed. we'll be back soon. flippine"

"Relaxed atmosphere , first day as you might expect Noisy disturbed night (very noisy bar)the next night. Travelodge on motorway would've been quieter . Comfy quality room although of age and maintenance of some windows that don't open or shut properly meaning they are well ventilated linen was old and creating dust every time it was touched . Dog facilities are brilliant but so they should be at £15 extra per night Food excellent but apple and rhubarb crumble average . Far too much fruit and a dusting of crumble like topping. Red berries detracted from flavour of rhubarb . Rhubarb had hard outer skin still attached. Burger excellent. Hagity pie excellent although a or two on the plate would've made it perfect . Free Tesla Destination charger for guests made our EV trip stress free on day 1 then failed day 2. Can't be relied on . A few outside sockets for contingency are needed In summary, over priced for the overall quality Walkability: Walks to Chatsworth house from the door"

"Stopped off here after a day climbing in the area. Much better than cooking on the camping stove!! Delicious burger and side of halloumi fries. Moonshine beer was well received too! Friendly staff and great location."

"After a great experience last Sunday we went back this Sunday and we’re not disappointed. After my husband was feeling dizzy from the heat, Chris, one of the new owners, was very kind. We had booked a quiet table and he escorted us to a delightful table in the snug, bringing iced water etc. The starters of crab and gazpacho were just right and we followed these with roast lamb washed down with pints of ice cold Estrella. All was delicious…. But the gravy…. Was in a league of it’s own! Proper gravy made with the meat juices just like Grandma used to make! This week my husband plumped for the fish and chips and I started with fish goujons otherwise we repeated last Sunday’s choices. Sadly, we are not local otherwise we would be eating here regularly. We wish Chris, Pinder and co every success in their new venture!"
