"OK...first of all, this restaurant is actually called 'Davidson's Country Diner', but this site wouldn't allow me to add it as a new addition.It's tucked out of the way, outside of Barrie, and just a stone's throw from a new resort/condo/marina facility called Friday Harbour. My advice would be to get in before all those city people move in and find it.After 65 years of serving up meals, you know they must be doing something right. We dropped in for a coffee and a snack and were charmed at the quaint and cozy décor. The coffee was excellent, but the pecan pie and home made bread pudding with caramel sauce were second to none. Both were served just slightly warmed with a large dollop of fresh whipped cream on the side. Seriously, this was the best bread pudding I have ever eaten anywhere, including my own kitchen. If the desserts are anything to go by, I can't wait to go back for a meal, and hopefully upgrade my 4 stars to 5."

"Dan Davidson has a delightful restaurant. Excellent food, good service and cozy atmosphere. Highly recommended. I really appreciate how he has honoured and ķept the spirit of the original owners from the 1950s-70s, when it was called the Breeze Bar, owned and run back then by Milner Barker, Harvey Suzy Gorman. Dan has rightfully put his own stamp on the place, but the building and atmosphere carry over from the past. Definitely worth the drive. This is great for special occasions or every day. Call and reserve. They are currently doing dinners Wednesdays-Sundays. They have an inviting fireplace as well."

"Am a pancake fanatic looked forward to having light fluffy pancakes but got heavy tasteless ones. You would think a place called Hot stacks would put a decent pancake together. Ordered the blueberry with maple syrup. Lots of blueberries but pancakes were not good. Almost...felt like they had used water to make them.Hey charge more but use buttermilk if you want to distinguish yourself as a true pancake specialist. Will not return to this restaurant for pancakes,"

"All i can say is are you kidding me? We went there for a snack/dinner after playing at the casino. The resteraunt is in the casino. The menus have changed, no more discounts for being a player and prices went up. I had the plain...butger with fries, and a salad, with iced tea. My lady had a small salad house) they no longer have a good choice, only house salad plain lettuce with mini tomatoes and a few carrot strings) no more greek. And she had wAter and deciddd on a side of mashed potatoes. A small dinner still cost clise to 50 buck. Not impressed and the burger? Mcdonalds tastes 100 times better and only 4 ounce fir 15 bucks. I know prices went up , but what the hell!!!!"

"What an absolute nightmare of a time. Several of my girlfriends went for their 80/90's dance....it was a joke. From the moment we walked in and try to have someone greet us at the door. The usual bar tender Nicole wasn't working. someone horrible who we are pretty sure did not have her smart serve Melissa was the bar tender for the night. She messed up our drink orders right off the get go. (insert huge eye roll Then we wanted to ordered some food, while I was waiting my turn to place an order. The older man (Bob? comes out from the kitchen and says NO more F ing salads...seriously. I was standing there. Melissa never said a word. Not to him or anyone standing at the bar. We never did end up placing a food order as we were scared it would have been spat in or dropped on the floor. Whatever horrible experience. If it hadn't been for Steve (fantastic DJ we would have left and gone downtown Barrie to The Queens to dance. At least we would have had a better licenced serve and able to order food. If you go, think again. As I truly hope you don't have the same experience. Oh and it looks like now the restaurant is closed. Interesting, as I know the owner was now trying to sell it. But he took it off the market. Guess the constant complaints finally had to close down."
