"My wife and I were just in Vienna. We saw this shop on a television cooking show years ago and I wanted to go there if we ever had the chance. It is not too easy to find unless you know it's at the upper end (end closest towards the cathedral) of the Naschmarkt. It is a shop and not a restaurant. Locals go to buy sliced meats, cheeses, and maybe a nice glass of wine. As all the reviews mention it is small; it is a stand up shop with one courtesy chair inside if needed or space allows!Everything we tasted, and I mean everything was delicious. First and foremost, however, was their roast beef. We have never tasted such tender, juicy roast beef. With shaved, raw horseradish, bit of mustard on the side, and nice dark bread it was fantastic. One local personality told us when we arrived it is "a black hole." What he meant was you enter for what you think is a short visit but the food, wine, and conversation make you leave hours later! You just lose track of time if you soak it all in.Thank you to Gerhard, Thomas, and Daniel for an absolutely beautiful visit. Sorry we missed Gerhard on visit number 2!"

"Waren eine Zeit lang öfters dort bzw. haben sich Mittags oft was geholt. Jedoch hat die Qualität sehr nachgelassen. Die Mittagsmenüs sind immer das Gleiche, sehr einfallslos. Immer der gleiche Curry und Wok. Schmeckt alles gleich. Nudeln wurden leider komplett aufgelassen. Und die Preise der Mittagsmenüs wurden wieder erhöht.Gut waren auch immer die Brötchen (Lachs und Roast Beef). Jedoch gibt es diese auch nicht mehr, sondern nur mehr Aufstriche. Da bestellen wir lieber wo anders."

"To the end of our long weekend in how we were here to eat. we spontaneously got a table on the terrace (although reserved inside) which has delighted us...The waiter was super nice and the entire service was very fast... safe to also be able to award the table several times ... but that didn't seem unpleasant to us!!! We had both carvings with potato salad and gurkensalat. very tasty and a good size! with a little 23€ also priced for us absolutely okay. what really disturbed us were the 2.30€ - for that there was a tablecloth and served. quite seriously - for us really not normal. the waiter already knew the demand "what a roof" and explained this instruction of his management - what was obviously unpleasant for him...Everything in all it was good for us. the cover costs should be relocated to the courts... then (at any rate we) would not only report on these."

"Yesterday me and my sister went to this restaurant. It was much better than we expected. Our father recommended this restaruant because he goes there a lot. The food was very delicious and the service was the best we ever had. We were served by three different waiters. They were all really kind and so friendly. They made us feel like we were welcome there. The restaurant is on the 12th floor and you can see the whole city. The place looks really good and it is comfortable. The food is a bit pricey but it is worth every penny. Visual presentation of the food was excellent and all the food tasted great."

"Ein echtes Wiener Beisl findet man immer seltener, aber das "Kolonitz" ist so eines. Geboten wird Hausmannskost der Wiener Küche und ehrliche Weine. Man fühlt sich wohl und das auch ohne Stammkunde zu sein. Nicht alles ist perfekt, aber man ist sehr bemüht. Das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis ist absolut in Ordnung."
