"Wow just had a cracking Sunday lunch at the Oak which is back to its best. Had the short rib roast beef dinner see photo and steak and ale pie pie made fresh both meals were superb. Really good and attentive staff and have to admit better than the Stanley these days less expensive too m. Well done to the oak and good to have you back. "Visited Saturday evening as a group of Drinks orders took an age to arrive .Had to continuously try to get staffs attention to order drinks , water that we ordered before meal still hadn't arrived by the time we had finished our meal and...after asking for the time. When ordering our meals asked if the pate was smooth with the response of it's no bits in it if that's what you mean . I would expect any server to have at least basic knowledge of the menu. That said the food was amazing but unfortunately due to the poor customer service wouldn't visit again."

"Sunday Lunch off the Game Menu. The Quail starter was outstanding followed by the Venison which was delicious. Our local village pub where the quality of the food continues to improve with every event, Lobster and Fizz, Fruit du Mer, Tapas, Game weekend. Can’t wait for the Christmas Fare."

"With no water in our village due to an accident and damaged pipeline, cooking at home wasn't so appealing so we headed off to our favourite bar and restaurant, the Corner House. The place was busy and technically full as many people had the same idea, but the staff rallied round to make room for us and despite them being run off their feet, the food and service was still absolutely fantastic. Congratulations to Luke and the rest of the staff, you really pulled it out of the bag... and this is exactly why we go back there time and time again. We couldn't recommend it more, 5 stars every time."

"We came across this land pub the fox roby mill after the drive around to find somewhere, after our walk near parbold hill fairy glen right outside of wigan, personal made us feel welcome also tho we had not booked we were still able to order food and we were sitting in the dog friendly area his only small area inside, but if they come together with their pooches can not find"

"Visited for a Sunday dinner. very lively bar area. one of the guests was lactose, gluten and garlic inlerant, which had previously been highlighted before the booking, whether the chef would fulfill accordingly. the waitress was aware of this, but was very negatiw regarding the choices and whether the cook would actually be finished. steak, chips snuffed salat seemed the only choice that avoids treating the cook with the food intolerances. a lot of meal times were ordered by röstlamm to steak and ale cake. No one in the group of 5 thought their meal was particularly good. the cakes were baked and meat. Roast dinners were dry and our eating unbearable member of the group suffered a bad feeling despite their safe choices. a disappointing experience."

"6 of us ate in the barn last Fri night. The food and service was superb, and coupled with a lovely atmosphere helped by a great pianist, we had a very enjoyable evening. It’s not somewhere that I can afford to go to every month but for a special occasion I can highly recommend it. Will defo b returning."
