"I’ve been going to Stadtwirt for the past years with family and friends, we have an apartment nearby. We’ve had some very good meals and are friendly with some of the people that work there. However weeks ago I thought that the quality...of cooking was not very good, basically my schnitzel was overcooked. Last night with friends I was embarrassed about the quality, it was absolutely DISGUSTING. My friends schnitzel was overcooked and the batter (coating) was awful. My kidneys (nierndln) which is normally one of my favourites were large hunks of fat and gristle, really awful. Incredibly lazy chefs for not preparing properly, slicing them and presenting properly. I sent them back and it put me off eating anything else from their menu. After leaving I watched the cooks through their windows. They were touching raw meat and then cooked meat with their bare hands! That sort of behaviour is unsafe and unacceptable. Never again."

"I had 3 meal times here during my trip. best chicken cordon blue I had it ever. beer was great, and the coffee was also good. for 2 lunches and an evening meal, was busy and out and I had never had problems sitting or service."

"The more or less Beer-restaurant “Hopferl” is very centrally located in the center of Vienna, across from the new Park Hyatt in the pedestrian zone Naglergasse. From the zone you can use two entrances to the restaurant, which is divided into several smaller areas, you...will find several smaller tables that are grouped with armchairs or benches. At some tables there is unfortunately a bit of a lack of space, you have to sit a little closer, so it is sometimes a bit tight when eating. The furnishings and inventory are in very good condition and rather rustic. A very clear menu card offers a very large selection of good beer types. The Hopferl offers really good Austrian delicacies (liver dumpling soup, Gröstl, roast beef, lots of brown breads with all sorts of different ingredients, etc whereby the quantity as well as the quality are right. We ordered spare ribs, a black bread from Milan, two apricot pancakes very good taste, and the portion of spare ribs unique in taste also the french fries, with a good Budweiser and apple juice. The prices are at the city center level, but still in an acceptable range. The beer range is quite good, you get different types of beer either as open beer or as bottled beer.
