"We had a small meatball sandwich, and it was wonderful. A little spice, but not too much, and it included both arribata sauce as well as well as pesto. Unusual, but excellent. They roast chickens on a rotisserie and they bake potatoes in the bottom...of that oven where the chicken drippings flavor the potatoes. Absolutely wonderful!"

"We planned part of our Victoria trip around this restaurant from excellent reviews and recommendations and it was so worth it. We ended up ordering way more food than the 2 of us could enjoy in an attempt to try various options. Absolutely left stuff in a food coma of bliss. The crispy chicken burrito, yam burrito, yam taco and fish tacos were just divine. The hard cider to accompany the meal was a perfect combo. Will definitely be back for more. Not a lot of free parking nearby so bare in mind to pay for your spot or expect an unpleasant surprise when you are back. Nothing abnormal for a downtown establishment."

"The choice brunch joint in downtown Victoria! On our way for a South West Island retreat on a Thursday, we made a stop at the Ruby on Johnson around 10am and despite a brief line, were seated within 10 minutes (party of 2). We were immediately enthralled with the quaint and comfortable homestyle aesthetic and CCR album playing over vinyl. The food and service was even better! Our server, Lauren, served us the Mexican Eggs Benedict and the Traditional Eggs Benedict (with gluten free modifications). Food was absolutely delicious and downright filling. We'll certainly be back for round 2!"
