"I can see why a lot of people are not enticed to come in and check this place in comparison to the other eatries around the area. I must say, even though it lacks the appeal I was very pleased with the food. Everything we had was very tasty and refreshing. Love love the vermicelli salad bowl. I do recommend that you check it out. Cheap and tasty, what more can you ask. The service was an added bonus, friendly waitress."

"NanYang is just so popular be prepared to wait in the queue for 10 15 minutes to place your order and find a table. The food is amazing great price and a good variety of dishes to please any sized group. Great for kids too. Well worth a visit"

"This restaurant is pretty good value and the steam boat setup has a novelty to begin with. But after a while it gets boring waiting for things to cook. Staff are lovely and decor is basic. Drinks are especially cheap! Good for a group outing."

"The service was just below average. Whenever staff brought a dish to our table, we thought they may have broken the dining ware. They were not gentle at all. No smile, no ‘enjoy your meal’ of course. They were too busy as the restaurant was busy. Food was fine. We had steamed rice with beef brisket stew, roast duck, and duck and jelly fish salad. Some parts of the duck were good, but some other parts were too salty. They could have marinated the duck more evenly. Beef brisket was soft and not too salty, but it would be better if it could be less fatty. Again the salad had some good parts, and the other overly salty parts. The steamed rice was served in a bucket with a lead instead of in a bowl. There was a spatula in the bucket also, so we could serve ourselves. This was a bonus point as the rice could be always warm."

"Go to Malaysian spot in the CBD. Everything we’ve had there is delicious and authentic the beef kway teow, roti canai with chicken curry, beef rendang, hor fun, roast duck. It’s always packed at lunch with a very diverse crowd. You really can’t go wrong."

"Dinner time!. I had been here few times mostly during the day. This time I came here to try their dinner dishes. Not many people dine in when we were there, so we did not need to wait long for the food. The food was good however it was too small portion compare to the others restaurant on gouger street. The duck dish with the tipping sauce was full of flavour. The chicken dish was good as well, but not the vegetable. I enjoy it!"

"Came to lunch on Christmas day so it was super busy and we had to sit outside. Eating was okay, though I personally found it pretty oily. the price is in the average of the area. the service was in order, although fair to be the waiter and waiter were probably exhausted from the busy amount of this day. it was quite hot outside to sit on a sunny day. Maybe some fans would be helpful in the future."
