"This nearby dim sum place has become our go to for quality and good value. the only downside is the grumpy and condescending staff and their allowance of people to cut in front of others.There is frequently a line outside this place even in the mid-afternoon. Most people are respectful of the queue, but at times (usually lols) cut in front pretending that they are just looking but instead they were sent by their family and order ahead of everyone else. They have been chastised by those in line however they seem immune and the restaurant staff allows this type of behavior. Most of the time the staff is courteous but if you get an older woman with short hair, be on your toes. She has no patience and if you don't know exactly what you want she rushes you and is condescending and tosses your change on the metal counter.That said, the dim sum is really good."

"Love the quality and the staff!. I happened to learn about Pings when our group of women met there because our regular hotel site was rebuilt. The food was so good and the service was so exceptionally great that we voted to change our meeting point for Ping's. Everyone is friendly and helpful and the customer definitely gets special attention. And the food is very carefully prepared and consistent. I enjoy visiting with a bunch of friends so we can taste 7 or 8 dishes. If you have 12 or more, you can reserve the back space and even order it in advance. Try a variety - it's all good."

"We have eaten in this restaurant previously. Tonight was, unfortunately, disastrous. We were seated quickly and given menus...and that’s the last time we saw a staff member. We waited 27 minutes to place an order before giving up and going elsewhere. Thank goodness we were in Chinatown, where there is no shortage of good restaurants. I hope your experience is better."

"I have a friend in Idaho who gets to the Glen Park area several times a year. He always eats at the Hong Sing when he visits, and told me they have the best war won ton soup in San Francisco. I took my family on a special BART trip to Glen Park from Antioch last summer just to try this restaurant, (It’s only a block from the BART station. It’s a small restaurant with about 8 to 10 tables. They have 1 family size table with a big lazy susan that seats about 8. The diningroom was very clean, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the help was friendly. The war won ton was fantastic! The rest of the food was great too! The prices were a bit lower than many similar restaurants we have experienced in the Bay area, and the portions were a bit larger. We had beef fried rice, sizzling fried rice soup, chow mein, lemon chicken, and a dish with duck. Our experience was so good that we have been there 5 more times since, and have taken 3 other families with us. I am not an adventurerous diner, but I was able to try some things I had never tried before that our guests had ordered, and to my delight there was nothing that I didn’t like If you go in tell them that Coach Dirt from Idaho sent you, and highly reccomends the war won ton soup. They may look at you a little funny, but it wil probably make them smile, and you are sure to be treated well. I’m no expert in the restaraunt ranking business, but I gave it 4 stars due to the quality of food, and our experience there. It’s not a fancy restaurant, but the meal along with the atmosphere of the Glen Park area has been enjoyable for our family. We’ll be making another weekend trip soon."

"This restaurant specializes in Chinese-style roasted duck, chicken, and pork. They have a takeout counter in the front of the restaurant with a line of people picking up family-sized trays of cooked meats for dinner. We ordered roast duck over rice and BBQ pork over noodles from the dine-in menu. The dishes were very tasty, reasonably priced, easy to share, and large enough to take home left overs. Service was quick and efficient. The restaurant is near the end of the Irving Street business district so parking (metered) was easy. Will definitely come again."
