"Friday lunch time was probably not the best time to try for a table without a booking, but we got a table for 4 outside without any problems. It was a little cool until the sun came out from behind the clouds and then it heated up. There is no shade, so it might pay to have a hat and sunglasses on warm days. Managed to get our orders in easily enough and food came out quite quickly. There seemed to be some confusion between our table and the one next to us, but we all got our food correctly. Very enjoyable lunch."

"Attended the store in Melbourne CBD and order the veggie spring rolls with salad and noodles, my friend always goes here and gets soy sauce but that day they gave us a light special sauce, it unfortunately had fish sauce in it which neither of us eat and were not told about considering we ordered veg option and there was a vegan option also you with assume you would be told about the fish sauce. We asked for a new dish with no fish sauce and was asked why we couldn't eat the dish we were served, my friend advised because she only at veg and then i was asked what my problem was. I felt the service was rude, yes a lack of communication from both sides but i have never experienced such a hard time to get my dish replaced."

"The BBQ pork was dry and tough, like it had been cooked and reheated. We also ordered a Chinese broccoli with oyster source dish and that was way too salty. The other dishes were fine. This was the China Bar franchise in Russell st Melbourne, the others might be better but we were really disappointed with this restaurant."

"I went here on Saturday for the first time in a couple of years... it brought back so many fond memories... I can still remember my first visit in 1987. Took a friend who was AMAZED at how good this humble little cafe is.Mrs Lee used to own and run the cafe. She sold it to the last Chef she hired who has kept the same VERY high standard of Chinese food.All food is cooked fresh in front of you and is, with out question, the best Chinese food I've eaten anywhere in Australia and parts of Europe and USA.I LOVE this place and can't recommend it highly enough. Just roll the dice, I guarantee you will not be disappointed."
