"My wife and I recently visited our son and daughter in law following the birth of our first grandson and decided to give them an "evening off" and decided that we would go out for dinner. Being a Sunday evening, and out of season, there were few "good" restaurants open but having used "Le Pot de Vin" a few times on earlier visits to Avignon we were delighted to find that it was open.Our last visit was in July (2012) but we were remembered by the owner who looked after us extreemly well. Unfortunately we were the only clients for the whole evening (but it was raining heavily) . The menu offers a limited but comprehensive and interesting range of starters, salads and main courses and a fantastic selection of wines, many of which are locally sourced and realistically priced. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her Salad Laudaise with rillette of duck, foi gras and air dried ham whilst my Foie Gras, freshly cooked with honey was superb. A light Luberon rose, surprisingly decanted, prices at 17.50 euros was excellent and , with coffee the complete bill was less than less than 48 euros!We chatted with the owner and chef after our meal, they are open every day. They deserved to be busier but during the summer booking really are essential.We will definately be back and would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys good, locally sourced and freshly cooked food and an interesting selection of wines."
