"The Saltwater Grill has been a Galveston staple for some time. I was encouraged that the menu has been updated with new items, while preserving some of their best offerings - I swear the Shanghai Delight is laced with Prozac because I'm always happy when I eat it. This time I tried one of their new "naked" offerings, hoping the fish would be allowed to shine. I had the grilled redfish, which was done perfectly - the very thin edges were a little crisp and carmelized but the fish was still moist and flavorful. I did miss the bread - this was one of the few restaurants in town that started with something with substance, so I was quite disappointed when a little crock of crackers appeared instead of bread. The restaurant is very noisy - I was ok hearing my companions but certainly couldn't hear the server well."

"We went to Ruth’s Chris for a nice dinner during our short family getaway. I truly wish I would’ve booked somewhere else. For $200 we got: very slow inattentive service, an unfriendly atmosphere that started at the hostess station, cold shoestring fries that were oddly too hard soggy all at the same time, a not-good blueberry mojito, one steak, and one small meal. The steak shrimp had good flavor but definitely were not worth what we paid. If you’re looking for fine dining in the desert do yourself a favor and go somewhere else! We were very disappointed."

"I enjoyed the experience, but thought food was sub par. The dinning is attractive, vibrant, and visually interesting. Service was excellent; attentive but not obtrusive. Background music and pace of the meal were very nice. Stuffed mushroom cap appetizer and salads were disappointing; very bland and tasteless. Steak and sides were good, but I expected better. Desert like wise was rather average. Perhaps my expectations were too high, but really found the food very run of the mill and not much of a value given the cost. As total package it just didn't impress."
