"Even the entry - a door, up a stair to a small landing, open door on left - was like many of the little places you find in Japan. iPad menu, sparse but adequate furniture, complimentary self serve cold water or cold barley tea at the counter. When the food came out, first bite reminded me of home (Japan). Not classical Japanese, but the way you would do it at home with a bit of creativity. Great little Izakaya (like tapas) menu as well as a variety of ramen (noodles) and is licensed, so would be great for get together drinks with friends, workmates or fellow students. I think the students have already discovered this place."

"The food took alot longer to come out and wasn't as fresh i thought it would be. We had a booth and were with children - the restaurant isn't pram friendly so you need to carry the pram up and down stairs. It was extremely noisy in the restaurant and it was difficult to talk to our party."

Waitress acted like she doesn't care anyone in the world. Very arrogant. <br>

There is 10% discount for student until 5:30pm but it didn't work. I represented student id at 4:50 pm but ended up paying full price without giving me a receipt. <br>

They should be better compare to the price. I would not recommend this place. There are more better Japanese restaurant around Haymarket for you to try out. Not very impressed."

"Services need to be tune up: Me and my friend came by to the restaurant for a reunion and a proper catch up. Food were generally good and money for value. Untill....when the bill came by,we realised that we were charged for 2 x ice waters ($4), money wasnt't the issue by itself. It was the attitute and approach of the waitress and management on how they handled the issue after we expressed our concern by stating that the charge wasn't informed of. The only feedback we received were "Sorry, we were busy" and "What do you want me to do". That's just simply not what we expected!"

We had a quick tour around their Haymarket location and saw live seafood in fish tanks, experienced chef's preparing sashimi, a gorgeous bar and a private dining room. "I've been travelling around for quite a while and tried many different Ramen places and this ranks among the top 3 while considering flavour, broth, noodle and price.Hidden away in the top level food court of the sussex center I found this diamond in the rough.A long awaited catch up with an old friend and my partner while blowing through Sydney had me on the search for a new Ramen place to try. Thanks to urbanlist.com I found the next tasty meal (this time on a tight-as-a-ducks... budget) under $15. Ramen Ikkyu delivered well beyond my $15 expectations.We ordered black garlic Tonkotsu #1 recomendation and the braised beef Tonkotsu #2 both were amazing. Conservative sizes but with free Kaedama (extra noodles) no worries mate, bring it on.Next time I blow through Sydney I will def be back. :)"
