"100 points for location! Set right beside the river, patio overlooks the river. Very spacious inside. The tables set near the window have an amazing view of the river. Food is fine. Service is good."

"Friends of mine had their wedding at Laurentian Lodge and I was there for 4 days. We had the entire place on lockdown, by that I mean the only people other than the Two Miserable Owners and staff on the property for the entire weekend were guests of the bride and groom. I felt the way everyone was treated I needed to write this review. The one major complaint from everyone, not just me, was the absolute miserable owners that went Outta their way to make us feel uncomfortable and treated everyone (180 people another 40 who stayed in Elliot Lake) like beaten dogs. Even to the point the male owner called a friend of the family YA LITTLE PUNK several times over and over in front of several guests. The woman owner slammed my red solo cup on the bar so hard it cracked after I politely asked for an extra cup. The sauna did not work and staff said it had been a very long time since it had. It 's been a few months since they got married and every single guest (friends) I have spoken to about their experience at the Lodge had nothing good to say about the Two Owners. Some really bad stuff! I actually have other stuff that the owners did and said, but I think you get the point. Bottom line the owners attitudes made a really great weekend into a bit of a circus act and had quite a few people stressed out and uptight. That 's some of the bad part of this review. Now on to the good to great side of things. Overall if this place had been run differently and as a whole our party had been treated better from the owners, we 'd all be going back in the future. Most people said it ranked as one of the nicest places they 've been to in the north. Which I tend to agree with even coming from some of the nicest country northern Ontario has to offer. That says a lot I think. The staff was great, rooms were nice and clean, I had the fire place room and it was huge, and every cabin besides The Tree top cabin was on the water or looking over the beautiful set of water falls. Landscape was very well maintained. Food was great. There is WiFi in the main lodge and in certain parts of some of the cabins. The rooms have no tvs and no radios, which I found really nice when you want to totally disconnect from the madness of life. No cell service either. I gave them a 3 star review for the simple fact that the two owners made it very difficult to give anything above that! If the owners sold or....whatever... I would go back in a heartbeat and I 'd give a 5 star. But that won 't be happening anytime soon that 's for sure, not with so many amazing places in the North. We even had plans to go back for our friends anniversary (for another get together) and that 's since been cancelled after talking to everyone and hearing their complaints about the owners."

"My man loves the wings here and they have a special for them on Thursday. I get the chicken pliers and they're delicious. the fries are excellent. I save all my fried foods for when we go! we get a great Greek...Salad to share and it is excellent. I was in many Greek restaurants in the states and this is cheap comparison. the selection of sauce for the wings/tenders are plentiful and really delicious. I absolutely love to write a stella artois with my eating there. couple really nice. our waitress nicky is really nice. the owners updated the restaurant recently and it has a casual grill type atmosphere. the only negatiw to say is that they are only open until 8 o'clock, which seems too early to close. family and friends enjoy all when they join us in the mustang grill."

"First time at a Tim Horton's. not going to lie, had a difficult time deciding what to eat. not ideal for a picky eater... ended up with a Ceasar salad, which was good but very peppery. kind of like a Starbucks, lots of coffee things...and small sandwiches."

"Pier 17Had the opportunity to visit this restaurant on a first date.  The date was amazing, or even of a kid maybe; looking forward to spending more time with this man, but the meal was magnificent!!My date strongly recommended this restaurant, so I threw caution to the wind and dove in.  I was not disappointed.  Ambiance is without words.  Situated right on the river, the views are breathtaking.  We parked in the ample parking out front and went in for supper. When you walk in motel service is to the right and the restaurant is to your left. I can't comment on other times but when we arrived the option was to seat yourself.  We sat alongside the river and were greated shortly thereafter by a lovely server.  Though I can't recall her name, I cannot send enough accolades to this 30-40 something dark-haired servess.  She was amazing, taking care of our every need.  She was very knowledgeable about the specials of the day and drinks and I felt as if I need not look at the menu.  Specials offered included locally harvested lake trout, penné aux  sauce de choix or Roast Duck with a mandarin au jus.  Needless to say we both chose the duck.  Roasted medium rare to perfection with an incredible au jus, served on fresh mashed with seasonal grilled veggies this was far more then I could finish. My 'Saturday night cream ale' from a microbrewery in Sudbury was delicious.  Dessert, prepared daily, from scratch was offered.  Options included Strawberry shortcake, Lemon tarte or Crème Brulée.  As a result of being stuffed from the main course I didn't endulge! We both finished with coffee. I cannot comment on the cost as. Y chivalrous date got the bill.  I suspect for us both including beers it was about 80$.All in all I am looking forward to my return to Pier 17.  My only question is how has this gem remained hidden in Blind River!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? "
