"One of the best places I was recently, Corkscrew Cafe is out of the way, but worth the ride. The place itself is almost like a small house once used as a motel and even a beauty salon back when CA was still operated by Mexico. It is very picturesque and beautiful inside without being old-fashioned. Service was good... we had a friendly waitress who was very nice, attentive and very friendly. The great thing in this place is the fresh ingredients they receive. Being in the middle of Carmel means they get all locally grown products and fresh fish from the sea. All this up to an excellent meal. The bread served at the beginning of the meal was also good: the French bread (stone heart baked, this is the best way) was roasted in a crispy cripple and served with humus... delicious. I had a very good salad with a walnut vinaigrette and marinated pieces of fresh mozzerella cheese... what it was well done was definitely the freshness and quality of the ingredients. We had a Calamari Appetizer that was well made... a lot of Kalamar is overly wide and oily, but this one had a light fritted taste that was refreshing. My only complaint here was the garlic aioli sauce with which it was a bit too heavy. As good as the other dishes were, the ducks came out even more. A beef short rib was very good, but even better I had a seafood linguini with salmon, mussels, mussels and shrimps in a tomato sauce that was great. All flavors just came together beautifully and you could taste the freshness of everything there... Super. Dessert was a minor, probably just because the expectations for the quality of any other course were so high. A brownie with vanilla ice cream was very good and fresh, but I had a rapillieberry pipe that was a bit too tart for my pleasure. If it were not for this, I would have given the meal five stars. The best of all, the price: very reasonable for the quality of the food you get. You can definitely go to SF, spend twice the money and not get food this good. We spent about $50 a person for a whole range of food and wine (including taxes and tips), so a good offer overall. If you're ready to do the drive, or go to Carmel, then I would definitely recommend passing."

"Ordered her chicken dish for the takeout and it was really delicious. For the first time since COVID personally this weekend. Beautiful seating inside and outside. Service was friendly. We ordered to share the lamb, a special one, and it was absolutely delicious. We look forward to our next visit to Roux in Karmeltal."

"This California casual cafe does things right. Just a few miles from Carmel by the Sea, it is worth the drive to this snug stucco restaurant with fire roasted pizzas and a spacious outdoor courtyard. We are particularly fond of the Meyer Lemon with proscuitto. We also ordered the pear salad beautifully plated delicate greens with a slightly sweet dressing and hazelnuts. The pear half is stuffed with blue cheese and roasted. Our only wish is that they would add tap IPA beer and non alcoholic beers. But we can't have everything ;"

"Don?t let the Beer Garden tag fool you! This little gem of a local eatery is serving up some fantastic tasting meals with many a European flare. From France to Spain, you can dive in to whatever you are seeking. We stopped for breakfast on a Sunday morning, not too crowded at 9:30, but hopping by the time we left. My wife had the Tocino Omellet and I had 2 Eggs my way with a ham steak. They have decadent beignets and I was told to check out the Mac N Cheese, which I had to have hot, so I ordered a small kids plate as a side and was floored by the flavor. They offer several different combos of that, so I cannot wait to get back and try more. Friendly servers and quaint and relaxing ambiance, make this a great choice for breakfast or lunch. Gotta check out dinner next time!"

"This corner Mexican cuisine is definitely raised and with the creation of a welcoming ambience. Located at the end of the city on foot from several hotels, it was a simple choice, especially after a local resident called homemade Papusas. So we cancelled a visit. Menu prices were somewhat steep, but the taste effect made the blow softer. We talked to one of the owners, they are 2 brothers who seem successful catering for the community and offer a specialty for all visitors. At the bar were regularly present, and many locals who told stories about what they love on the menu. My wife ordered the Coyotito chicken salad, which exploded with taste pairings and contained a perfectly constructed Quesadilla as Crouton. I ordered the two Papusas, which just looked out, but packed a stamp, an amazing combination of taste with the cabbage salad and tomato sauce. Let us not forget the bar selections, they have a variety of tequilas that can be ordered individually, a la margarita, or flights. We had a house margarita and a premium with cartridge. They have their homemade sweet and sour mix, but it was a miss for us, it tasted to water. All in all, we would return for more toughness, I hope they remain successful."
