"We were staying in Hope recently and picked up our picnics and lunches here several days running. Everything was lovely but we'd particularly recommend the spinach and ricotta pastry, the sausage rolls and the Bakewell tart/pudding. The staff were really friendly and I was especially touched by how patient they were with my (adult) daughter who is autistic and has a learning difficulty."

"Called for late lunch, Unfortunately they stop food at 3pm when they close at 5pm so ate earlier than I wished. The staff were very pleasant and the food was plentiful and very good, also good value. We will definitely return on a day they stay open till later."

"Venue was lovely, all the staff were excellent. Food was very good, authentic. Only down side was we ordered a side of halumi fries which seemed very small for over £6. The manager came and explained politely how the portion size was decided. Very professional and friendly so no problem at all. We had the pre theatre menu which was reasonably priced. Overall, was impressed and would recommend."

"We’ve been to this cafe a couple of times now, always tying it in with a visit to the ‘visitor centre’ which essentially is a glorified gift shop. The cafe is nice, spacious (not toilets these are in the outside public toilet block which I don’t like! . It does have baby changing facilities though. Note the opening hours are 09:30 16:00 which, when you arrive at 15:30 makes getting an order in eating a tight turnaround! We had cake and also had ordered a bowl of chips these took a long time and very much tasted like frozen chips just deep fried. Not very tasty. Cake and coffee were lovely though. Service was ok. No free wifi."

"Great atmosphere with interesting decor. Lovely food, some of which reminded me of America and Germany--I had the Reuben sandwich (a NYC staple), and it was very tasty. The brisket is tender with great flavour, and I love seeing sauerkraut with so many dishes, as it mixes up the flavours and is quite good for you too! I'll be interested to try some of amazing-sounding beers when I'm no longer pregnant!"

"The best glass of sauvignon blanc in Glossop by miles. Just make sure it's the kiwi one! On my last visit complimentary nibbles were served. My only complaint is that they are only open Wednesday to Saturday but I'm sure that reflects the local market and demand."

"We came for the Yorkshire Pudding Wrap and there was no disappointment. Turkey Yorkshire was delicious. I ordered the vegan cob without the mushroom and was offered a vegan sausage instead and it was out of this world. Friendly service, laid back atmosphere, would definitely recommend."
