"We were looking for a good lunch before we went back to Britain from the airport, and – from the map – Carnon looked like a good place to find a good food on the coast. This is not a review of the Carnon location, but the city has certainly seen better days. It's not what you could call a market port. Nevertheless, there are many restaurants along the stripe at the port. most are semi-continuous structures with canvas walls designed to be raised if the weather is not cold and stormy. We visited a cold, stormy lunchtime on Sunday. Most restaurants were empty except La Traine. They had taken all their guests carefully into a smaller room, so it looked more crowded, but they found us a room very fast. We looked at the menu and the other diners. A lot of everyone ate the house specialties: Catigot aux gambas. Most of the time, the Diner locals were perhaps pensioners. We thought they knew a good value when they saw him, so we did how the locals had a double part (ear 25/head to lead in... Eur15) and a bottle of rose because that's what most of the other diners were up. The Catigot is a metal dish filled with potato cubes, huge amounts of fish, a few mini-squids, a few large shrimps per person and a few shells, all in a sauce of eggs and cream stabbed and cooked so that the sauce a little thickens. It is filling, generous portions and warming on a cold day. Definitely not fine food or skin cuisine, but decent value comfort food. Most people seemed to take away a dog bag with their uneven portions. The meal included a dessert, not that you really need it after this size of the main course, but I had a few pots of framboise sorbet that was very good. The staff worked very hard and was pleasant and attentive. Overall, we were satisfied with the choice, although it wasn't quite when we expected. I'm not sure if we would ever return to Carnon, but if we did, I would, fortunately, return to La Traine."

"The hazard brought me to this restaurant on the noon and in the evening. The different dishes I chose, beef tartar, sea salad, for my part were really good, and a very correct quantity. The welcome was warm, I had a nice evening in this restaurant with my best friend, thanks to Erick the very friendly server. I strongly recommend this restaurant, I would be a volunteer returned."
