"This is a great example of 'casual dining' the menu may not be vast, but its got the quality that counts. It's a comfortable space that you feel you can relax in, and have a good catch up with somebody. The staff aren't constantly in your face, and are always very friendly. Recommended!"

"I booked Camus after reading exceptional reviews for my finances birthday dinner. We sat upstairs at a two seater table, I struggled hearing him and had to constantly yell for him to hear me. It was far from enjoyable or romantic. I suggest sitting downstairs if you don't want to yell across the table. The food was absolutely delicious and very beautiful but very small portions. It's also expensive, which would be fine if you got a tad more to eat... Especially as you are meant to 'share' the meals.The cocktails were tasty, but for $22-$25 each I have experienced better and larger.The waiters/waitress were awesome. Helpful and lovely. I really appreciated the alternative appearance of the staff in an upmarket establishment. They added their own uniqueness to the place which felt nice. In summary- Taste and staff, awesomeNoise and portion size, poor"

"The food was delicious and the service was absolutely wonderful. Our waiter was so friendly and took the time to explain the dishes to us as it was our first time and showed us the traditional way they eat it. We had the sambosas and peppers as the starters and for mains the chicken, lamb with collard greens, yellow lentils and beetroot dish which were all very tasty. My favourite was the creamy lentils paired with the Injera flat bread. The bread was soft and tender and was slightly tangy. The honey wine was also sweet and delicious pairing to go with the meal. Would definitely go again and try their other platters!"

"I have eaten at Narai Thai literally dozens of times over the decades. It was one of the first Northcote/Thornbury haunts that wasn't a pub, and it effectively set the standard for the area. On a recent visit we agreed that we had never had a bad meal here. Yes, the service can vary, but the food is always good and as it's still BYO, an evening here is good value.The night we were there consisted of two big tables - a hen's night and a birthday group. Although it was noisy, we still had our order taken and received our meal in acceptable timeframes. We had the curry puffs and the prawns wrapped n spring roll wrappers to start. Both were great. As was our pad thai with prawn and a yellow beef curry. This is a local worth going back for."

"Came here two years ago and the lunch menu hasn't changed much since. Tried their improvised dinner menu once and the experience wasn't great due to weird tasting combos of raw food. Dinner was quite pricey. <br/ <br/ The small mixed salads for lunch is ultra healthy and detoxing especially with organic ingredients. <br/ Mixed salad today consisted of delicious zucchini (shaped as spaghetti noodles) with mixture of green leaves, carrots with beans, kale with purple carrots, sunflower seeds and purple cabbage. <br/ Almond milk with warm bitter cacao was nice and nutritious.<br/ Shot of blue-green live E3 algae at the end of meal was a really good refresher!!<br/ Highly recommend this lovely place for lunch."

"Across from the Palace Westgarth cinema, is the best ice-cream and gelato bar in Melbourne! I know it's an outlandish claim but the whole family voted unanimously and we live miles away!!!!! Preservative-free and with sophisticated flavours such as Iranian pistachio (wow wow and wow!), Lemon and basil and chocolate and rosemary. The whole street was busy with gorgeous looking cafes and bars which we will have to try another day, but fortunately for us only a small queue for the gelato. Which gives it another plus ahead of Messina!"

"We ordered the den pizza, lamb 3 ways, eggplant chips and the apple berry crumble. Everything was delicious, the pizza had an even ratio of toppings and the lamb was perfectly cooked. The apple berry crumble was really good but it needed more ice cream to balance everything."
