"We are back for another winter and this is one of our favorite restaurants in Mahahual. They have a great salad - I suggest the Ensalada Divino or the tomato, mozzarella, and Basil. Their homemade pasta with different toppings is one of my favorites and I like the pesto on top or of course, the pizza is excellent. We are vegan so we usually get the vegetarian. The crust of thin and cooked in the ceramic oven they have. The beer is cold and we really appreciate the waiter - he is very good! And that helps. It is in a good location as I do yoga Monday, Wednesday and Friday and it is soo handy. One of Mahahual's best."

"We are staying at the Holiday Inn and had gone out looking for a place to have dinner, not much in the area so came back to the hotrel. Just outside is a small, four table, turkish restaurant, how we missed it earlier I don't know. We stopped and a very friendly young waiter (he told us he was from Haiti) allowed us to check out the menu. Neither of us had ever eaten Turkish food before but thought we would give it a try (and the prices were very good). I had a beef taco (more like a wrap) and my wife had the chicken steak. Both were delicious and filling. As we were leaving, the owner gave us a sample of their hummus, it was the best I've tasted. My advise, try this place."

"We asked the taxi driver where he liked to eat. This was one of his choices. It is not dressed-up for the tourists. The locals eat here. Our server didn't speak English at all.The food was simple Mexican. Nothing fancy. Mama was in the kitchen cooking it fresh. It was very simple, and very good. Two of walked away very full for about $6 total.I have no idea if they are open for dinner, but I could see they were open for breakfast and lunch.They provided two salsas. One was greenish and mild, The other was maroon and volcanic. Be really careful with that one!"

"We (husband and wife couple had at El Emporio the best meal in Chetumal we've ever had. The grilled bread was the first indication of a fine meal to follow. The carpaccio de pulpo was artfully presented and even more tender and delicious. We shared a bottle of good tempernillo along with the steak (pequena?? , fresh grilled asparagus and tasty puréed papas. The atmosphere was warmly lit and quite romantic. The best meal we've had in Chetumal for our frequent visits."

"We were in Mahahaul for 11 days, and the majority of our days in town at the beach were at Kimbara. We ate, drank, and lazied on the beach with the men who worked there taking care to keep our tummies full and drinks flowing. We were taking the PADI diving course next door and enjoyed the atmosphere and staff. Thanks guys for making us feel welcome and taking care of us!!"
