"The Saloniki is a family-run restaurant that has long been an institution in Ulm. In the guest room everything is somehow stressed in Greek, partly exaggerated as I find (there are at least 4 decorative boards with the corresponding columns below and then there is always the typical plastic and plaster art kit that is not the case in Greece... In the upper part of the room there is a shelf that surrounds the room and is completely filled with dusty spirits. Apparently, the host is a collector. For what? The operation quickly came to the place, but was very laconic and radiated quite lustless in the evening. After the order she was back in record time and put a (good Retsina and an Ouzo on the table. It took about 1 2 minutes, then the salad was there. Greek hots here: green salad, turbulent carrots, bean salad and overcrowded pomegranate seeds and sunflower seeds. A Greek? I didn't know. The salad was fresh, but the sauce was very in German. When I'm in a Greek place for the first time, I'm always ordering Souvlaki. Something simple. You see how the cook thinks and acts. After the salad it took only a short time until the plate with the 2 spikes came. For the meat, unfortunately, as so often, simple pig carvings were taken into pieces and these were taken in large pieces along the spear (not the small cubes as you in Greece. Unfortunately, the carvings are not optimal for grilling, which is then slightly dry. It was just here. sauce? Unfortunately also here not really Greek: in the original one would have poured the spices with a marinade of good olive oil and lemon. The fries were good, the rice too, but I asked about the Zaziki. He was full of herbs, rather went towards Frankfurt's green sauce, not really Zaziki. But also not bad from taste. What then definitely did not fit was the decoration of the meat with a *earberry*. I'm really open to new things, but garlic with strawberry just doesn't fit. The cook seems to be doing well, but shoots beyond the finish. Here I would like to remember the clear Greek original with good ingredients. On me the present seemed more touching and somewhat exaggerated. I don't know the other Greeks in Ulm yet, but I can't imagine that the Saloniki will occupy the top place."

"Pizza was great, rider very friendly. But at two ordered Tortellini one portion was probably distributed on two, because we have never been able to count Tortellini at first glance, which did not even cover the bottom of the aluminium shell. "After a successful wander around all the old parts of this lovely town, I emerged from the Fishermen's Quarter and stumbled on the John Benton restaurant. They have a good number of chairs and tables outside with a view over to the old Town Hall (Rathaus). I settled into a bistro chair outside and ordered a large glass of the local Gold Ochsen lager type beer Ulm's self proclaimed liquid gold. I then decided to take my time and embark on some serious people watching. Even though most other customers were eating I wasn't put under any pressure to order food, nor to move on. What a nice way to spend a relaxing afternoon when on vacation."

"Pleasantly surprised to find this place thanks to Happy Cow. Dishes are clearly marked vegan or veggie and come in a pretty wide variety, and there's also a seasonal menu (in July, this included vegan risotto and Indian orange curry). They have a couple veggie burgers, curries, middle eastern dishes, salads etc. I didn't spot any vegan deserts except ice cream but didn't ask either. They also served continuously on a Saturday afternoon. Pleasant and efficient service."

"Very nice place in central location with the view on Cathedral. Coffee portions are huge and they offer wide range of meals. Bathrooms are clean and have flowers However, you can see wifi, but they say it's not working If you're sitting in the first room, tou can smell everything being cooked cause kitchen is open and it's not nice, especially when smth's being fried. Besides broad meal offer, there's limited pastry offer only four cakes/pies to choose from."
