"Today my downstairs neighbour treated me to a belated Christmas gift of brunch at Le Brasserie Central in Westmount. Our reservations were for 10:30 a.m and we arrived ready to eat. Our wait staff presented us with the menus and offered suggestions. We immediately dispatched him for much needed cups of coffee and tea. My hostess chose Chipotle eggs, potatoes, braised ham, two eggs, chipotle tomato sauce, cheese gratin while I opted for creamed goat’s cheese on rye bread with avocado, hard boiled egg and roasted tomato with fries and mayonnaise. Both dishes were reasonably priced.We wasted no time tucking into our respective choices which we thoroughly enjoyed. While my hostess has been there on numerous occasions, this was my first time dining there. It had come highly recommended by another friend who often dines there and has never had a meal she didn’t enjoy. I will certainly dine there again."

"I had been hearing terrific things about Café Gentile, and finally had the opportunity to visit this past Saturday. Absolutely best lunch I've had all year. Authentic Italian the way it should be. Sure, it's expensive, but I've never before experienced this quality of grilled Italian sandwiches, pasta and coffee anywhere else outside of Italy. The veal scaloppini sandwich and the side of fusilli pasta with rose sauce were incredible. My friend loved his chicken schnitzel. I always take a little bit of sugar in my coffee, but there was not need with their extremely flavourful cappuccino. The friendly and knowledgeable service is an added bonus"

"A beautiful restaurant with great service but a little disappointed with their portions. Nothing to say about the food the little they served was excellent. I had tuna tartar as a starter which was quite delicious, decent portion. I ordered halibut as my main dish wow what a tiny piece served on some thick sauce with 10 peas and a few corn kernels but I do have to mention it was very tasty. It turned out to be an expensive dinner. Tuna tartar, halibut, a tisane and a regular coffee excluding tip and excluding alcohol = $75.00 At the end of the meal I was feeling a little hungry. If you park in the Westmount Square building and have them stamp your ticket you won’t have to pay for parking. Phew!"

"The place is located in a basement and the decoration is basic. I ordered 3 pizzas, found a hair in one and the cook forgot to add mushrooms. Washrooms were dirty. Cleanliness in a restaurant is supposed to be the most important. The service was ok but the price is expensive for what it is. They say it's Italian but I AM Italian and I felt like they were laughing at my country. The owner don't speak French and has a bad English and it seems like they have problems with their employees. I'll never go there again to eat a pizza because it was the worst experience I had in a restaurant. Sono deluso !"

"My wife and I went on our honeymoon to Decca 77. The service was exceptional and was the best we had throughout Montreal. The foods met expectations for the price, this is not a cheap date place, but it was the value available. With some of the other comments we are also Americans and had no problems with the staff. I would not consider the food portions small unless you are too cheap to order several courses. Overall, you will come here for excellent service and good food at a reasonable price."
