"Having lived in France for 30 years, I can say without hesitation that I, my wife, and our guest at Comte Roger was one of the most disappointing culinary experiences I ever had in a highly rated French restaurant. Where should I start? When we made our reservation on the phone, we were NOT informed that we would be the only table that would share a beautiful outdoor terrace with a party of 50 company business guests, which leads us to sit at a table that has died in a corner next to the service bar, while the party of 50 occupied the banquet under the vines covered trellis. While the increasing number of company guests arrived, standing right next to our table and loud as if we were not there, the last straw came when one of the guests came to our waiters, just as he served our drinks, making a whole drink spilled on my shirt and lap. The waiter returned with a roll of paper towels to dry me, as well as a fresh drink, and continued as if nothing had happened. A few minutes later someone in the restaurant realized that we were numbered from the 50s party and asked if we would rather go to the... yes, please. Afterward, we should have left. On the way to our new table we handed over the manager and I showed her the drink I was wearing now. She went to the party. In the mostly empty dinning room our waiter showed us on a dark table against a wall while I pointed to a much more beautiful table with a window view that was clearly intended for other guests arriving later. He put us on the table. It became clear that things did not improve when the waiter informed me of the 1/2 bottle of wine I had chosen, was not available and did not make an offer to bring us a full bottle as compensation for the problems we had already experienced. Our guest ordered a 1/2 bottle of white while I went on and ordered a complete bottle of red for my wife and me. The waiter brought both wines on our table, uncorrected and left. I had to taste and pour the wines myself. At the end of the meal, after more confusion regarding our coffee, the three of us spent a good ten minutes trying to get someone's attention to demand the bill. When the 230 euros finally arrived, I noticed exactly zero compensation for the bench, spilled drink and overall bad service. We even had to get up to pay at the desk as the waiting staff and the manager had left us to clean up after the party on the terrace. Apart from our waiter who was at work for everything I know on his first day, all problems could simply be avoided by booking at the time we made the reservation that the restaurant terrace was reserved for a big party, and we would simply have booked a table for the following day, but unfortunately. Unfortunately, they are not responsible for the kitchen staff. The food was excellent. But the management and the waiter who served us were another story. Based on all the glowing reviews that this restaurant is testing us, I have no doubt that our experience was an exception. But if a restaurant falls to the degree that we know that the least is expected is something recognition, compensation or apology. None of them came. In fact, when we started the manager on the way, she was preokkupied chatting with a VIP from the party to come for us or even thank our presence. Fortunately, France is full of beautiful restaurants run by wonderful people who know how to take care of their clientele. From our experience, Comte Roger is not one of them. Adieu Comte Roger, you won't be missed. One last comment. If dear readers, you have made it to the end of this tone and under the impression that we must have done something to earn the service we have received, i.e. I can assure you that this was not the case. As I noted at the beginning of this review, I have lived in France for over 30 years. My father was French. I speak the language and understand the culture. Restaurant Comte Roger earned this review."

"Nous avons mange ce jour à l'oliveraie, il est très facile de stationné sur le parking prive du restaurant. Nous avons pris l'apéritif au bar sur des petites tables très confortables. Un excellent repas composé de produits frais. Le tartare de saumon était excellent, le poisson du jour était parfait, les frites fraîches sont excellente. Pour dessert nous avons pris une salade de fruits fraîche qui était excellente . Le personnel est très professionnel. Nous reviendrons."

"I enjoyed a lovely dinner here last night. My salad verte was delicious and the lettuce was fresh. I had the encotrer (sp?) Steak with rouqefort sauce which was cooked perfect. My dad had the duck breast with orange sauce. The sauce was delicious, however, the duck just slightly over cooked. This didn't matter to us, my dad actually preferred it that way. Both dishes came with fries and a side of veggies. I loved the veggies, green beans with asperagus and mushrooms. We topped it off with the tarte tatan. I would definitely recommend. Service was very good."
