"Worst meal I had ever. Burger was loaded with finely chopped red onions. The meat had a frozen patty taste to it. The burger was served in a pizza box with the bun, toppings and patty scattered through the pizza box. Chicken quesadillas was even...more embarrassing. Hardly any chicken and cheese.served cold. Salad was served in a styrofoam cup and was basically just lettuce. The dressing was disgusting. It was like gelatin. One positive. The beer was cold. Well done. Management did not care about our concerns about the food. Do not spend your money here."

"I had a good time. Went here for a birthday party. I didn't order food, but I did order many a drink. Maybe I'm use to Vancouver bar pricing for drinks, but my tab was only 70 bucks at the end of the night. After spoiling myself, my boyfriend and the 3 other birthday babies there, I was a pretty happy girl. Decent service but once it gets packed, it's hard to get to the bar if you want a drink because it's so crowded. My tip, get to know one of the bartenders there and keep going back to them, they'll recognize you and expedite you : <br/ <br/ Good music, top 40 with a few oldies too. Good night for out in the burbs."

"We are so thankful to have such a wonderful place so close to home. The food is excellent - our faves are butter chicken, the samosas, the pita pizzas (our kids love these) and donairs. The family that owns the Bistro is so kind and generous and always greet you with a smile. Stop in if you also need milk, bread or even salsa or canned corn! They honestly have it all."

"This restaurant went onto my Try' list because it's so chic looking from outside. Finally went last night. Not so chic inside. It was outside at p.m. and only about inside the restaurant. Which was full, but everyone kept their jackets on!...Music playing throughout was clubby dance pop. Yuk. Food was okay, we shared a roll that sounded a little better than it was. The presentation was beautiful to look at but it lots of layers of sweet squirted-on sauces and the essence of what the roll was essentially about was kind of lost. We followed that with a tasty chicken/rice thing. The menu's fairly extensive. I presume beer and wine are served but we didn't see either on the menu and as I looked around the room not one other table had alcohol. Bottom line, the ambience was a deal killer and the food wasn't good enough to put up with frigid temps and dance music. Won't return."

"Since finding the Royal Oak a few years ago when we moved into the area it has become our restaurant of choice for family affairs or when out of town visitors come. Very consistent in their great service and we love the rustic charm of the restaurant itself."

"I was meeting friends on the patio for dinner after work. I arrived 1st and it 's not really a patio but more like a bunch of picnic tables, seats cobbled together in the parking lot. I will preface this by saying I eat here about 6x a year.. always with big family and friend groups. I have enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. This was pretty ghetto as far as atmosphere but I was willing to support them until... I asked for a glass of water with lemon( I get this everytime I come in the the restaurant) and I was told they only have bottled water. It was 2.49 and I planned on having spicy chicken wings and would have gone through at least 4 bottles of water . I was not impressed. I was waiting for friends so I thought I would grab my large bottle of sparkling water from the car. Grabbed it. Sat back down... and was told I could not bring in food or drink... to their ghetto parking lot. So I said I was leaving and the waitress said rudely ' and why is that? ' I was like.. um.. this attitude.. the idea of paying for something free. This is not the PNE, or the movie theater... and the water you are charging 2.49 for is bought by the flat for that same price. Do not gouge patrons who are willing to eat on your 'patio '. I was planning to get a boozy drink and dinner. Instead the charging of water led me to go to save on.. buy spicy chicken wings and go home and eat them on my own nice patio with a view of a garden. I saved over 40$ by leaving. I will never go back and I will tell everyone how terrible the service was. I have eaten in other restaurants and have seen their set ups for covid and this was by far the worst. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place or get take out"
