"Featured and recommended in the Good Pub Guide and Good Beer Guide. Locals' village pub. Light lunch of an excellent home made pea and ham soup. An average prawn cocktail. A benefit is smaller portions are available with the main courses. Doggy friendly. Log burner in the cosy public bar. Probably lost some of its pubby charm following refurbishment. Friendly crew."

"I went here with my mom so she could have a drink and a sit down as she walks with a stick and she must rest her leg every now and then, we sat down the person working there came over and rudely told us that we must have something off the lunch menu when I asked if we can just have a drink and scones she abruptly said no not on the lunch menu you can't we only have 4 tables so its wasted if you just have a drink. I went back to ask her for a name she obviously ended up being the manager , she tried to say she didn't say it and that she can't have someone just having drinks she ended up telling me bye because I was clearly right that she is prejudice against people who are not local and disabled, we ended up at the chattery where the customer service was wonderful and the lady here was lovely told us we were more than welcome to sit here just for a drink ."

"We had a fabulous lunch here after we had tried to find somewhere to eat in axminster that was not a river hut. absolutely beautiful staff, a lot of choice and excellent Covid-19 safe service-up. the crab an avocado salat was the best I ever had!"

"The old dairy kitchen is located on a 300 hektar large organic farm with very high ethical standards, where separate companies work together to complement each other. our lunch last week was absolutely delicious and we are very happy to come back soon. we had beet root, herby arancini, beeing with a very tasty salsa verde and brazed goat shoulder that was delicious. the pudding was a rhabarb gele with rhabarb parfait a great finish. Not only was it excellent, but all about it was great, including the weather. if I had to find something to complain about it, the tee and coffee I don't think would be, according to the incredibly high standards of the rest of the meal. the menu often changes when different products are available, from the cervical garden, the salat garden and the vieh. After we had eaten mariel, we gave a tour through the farm and explained its genesis. thanks for giving us a great afternoon."
