"This has went from one of the best fish shops to one of the worst. Chips tasted old and cold. portions has got smaller but prices has increased. waiting time terrible. Would not return."

"Nawroz is a cafeteria restaurant in gateshead that serves fresh Kurdish food. the menu is not very extensive, but includes suppening, grilled chicken, lamb or kofta and various stuffing. I had the fantastic lamb-Qoozy that was so tender that it just fell apart. my man. and son had both the mixed grill- 4 spits meat served with salat, brot and suppe. with 3 softdrinks came the bill to £20.00 bargain! the amazing nanbrot costs £1.00 for 4 if ordered as extra or they can buy it via the road in the Kurdish bakery where it is fresh from the often and steam hot. 2 great little places worth a visit."

"Having passed it many times before, we decided to call into The Black Horse at Barlow Village for a Sunday lunch and I'm so glad we did. Our concerns around the unwelcoming waitress who frowned at us over the top of her spectacles as I...explained that we did not have a reservation were very quickly forgotten and we were given a table near a window with a simply breathtaking view. Our starters arrived quickly and really were lovely very generous prawn cocktails and what looked to be a nice home made soup. There was a choice of pork, beef, lamb or turkey for mains which arrived with lots of very tasty veg and piping hot gravy thoroughly enjoyable. Lunch for 4 with a round of drinks cost £46 and that really was great value. Will certainly be back !"

"Visited during a spot of retail therapy and was pleasantly surprised. Very friendly staff and quick service. Plenty of seating inside and out. The sandwiches are very nice and the prices are better than Costa and Starbucks. Definately worth a visit."

"Ordered a large, it came hot and there was a lot, it was a tad expensive, but good quality and a good balanced mix of meat. the salat was fresh and crispy and the chili sauce was just really not hot with seasoning. about everything I was happy with the service and eating up there."

"Nice local cafe/eatery offering fresh and healthy lunch/snack options. The food was delicious, nutritious and reasonably priced. They have a good variety of veggie options. The staff is very friendly and the space itself is very bright, airy and cosy. Check it out for your next takeaway (all their packaging is organic/compostable good for you AND the planet) or as a lunch spot with your friends/colleagues!"
