"I've eaten here three times now, and I can't complain about the food I've ordered. I had a vegan calzone, a tofu scramble, and another time I just had some pastries that I was told were vegan. My problem is with the lack of vegan options. I would guess that at least 80% of the menu is not vegan. For some odd reason, eggs and/or dairy are used in just about everything. In this day and age, when egg replacer, plant milks, and vegan cooking techniques are widespread and available with just a Google search, I don't understand why a vegetarian restaurant would still be using dairy and eggs if they were trying to appeal to all vegetarians. Veganism is growing faster than ovolactovegetarianism is in the U.S. For example, ovolactovegetarians don't mind eating vegan sausage as opposed to veggie sausage with eggs, so why choose veggie sausage when you know vegans won't even want it? There are already few vegetarians in the U.S., and then they largely ignore a large section of them. What a brilliant business strategy. Also, all three times I've been there the servers were perplexed when I asked about what desserts or side dishes were vegan since it's not clearly marked anywhere. That just gets annoying. I could go to any restaurant in Southern Illinois and go through the routine of asking about dairy or eggs and getting a confused look from their employees that don't regularly cater to vegetarians. The whole reason I go to vegetarian restaurants is because I'm expecting a knowledgeable staff that goes the extra mile to understand modern vegetarian dining. If they catered to vegans more, I'd probably be there once a week rather than once every two months. Updated from previous review on Saturday March 07, 2015"

"Service was horrible. Our food came out before appetizer. Asked 3x about appetizer still nothing. Told manager and he brought it and was going to take it off bill and didn't. Waitress completely tryed to avoid us. Will not be back."

"Our family of 6 had a really fabulous dinner because we were lucky enough to have the private room. It was the perfect place for the last night of our vacation. We come back every year and don't eat dinner until the last evening of our trip at Tucci Benucch. It has become a family tradition. We love the breadsticks with delicious olive oil, the wine prices are reasonable and there are Italian wines on the list. The food is delicious and the portions are large. Our server was really great too!"

"My boyfriend and I came to Mi Casita for dinner one summer night. We were quickly seated and given complimentary chips and salsa. For food, we ordered a chori-queso taco, some enchiladas, and a shrimp quesadilla. Thank goodness for the chips and salsa, because everything majorly slowed down after that. It took forever to get our order taken, get our food, get water refilled, and even to get our check to leave. The food was decent, but waiting for a cup of water after a big salty meal on a hot summer day was an extremely miserable experience. Our server was nice but hardly visible. On the plus side, we had enough leftovers to make a small meal for the next day. However, I am not sure if that was due to the food portion size or due to eating an entire bowl of chips and salsa while waiting for our food. Mi Casita has decent Mexican food, but ridiculously slow service is not a homely feeling."

"I got a burger from there yesterday and it was the second best burger I?ve EVER had. It had a nice pink to it and it was phenomenal?. The only place that?s had a better burger is Kuma Corner (Chicago area) which is about $19 a burger not includingsides?. So for Chillis to be almost as good as that says a lot! The margarita was good too"
