"Disgusted by the price and quality. Paid for half pounders with cheese. These were also meant to come with chips which they didn't give us. I asked for one burger with salad and one without. When we recieved them, both burgers had lettuce...on. I asked for salad not just lettuce. Salad to me means lettuce, onion and tomato. The burgers themselves were swimming in grease and the cheese tasted like plastic. The bun was really soggy. Both me and my hubby had to bin them as the grease was over powering. Absolutely gutted. I will never use these again and I recommend that everyone else does the same. They didn't just get the full order wrong, they couldn't even cook it properly. They should be closed down"

"Decided to dive into an impromptu dinner. We had really great (and helpful) service, and the food was surprisingly fantastic. The best chicken wings (with Nashville hot sauce) we've ever had. Portion size was massive, definitely enough to fill you. Burgers and chips were also excellent. The atmosphere/music was cozy, friendly and created an authentic American diner feeling. Because of this experience, I probably come back."

"I was working a gig over in Gateshead at The Sage on Wednesday (1st Feb) afternoon and knowing I had a long evening to come was looking for a bite to eat nearby. I then remembered the Head of Steam on Newcastle’s Quayside and that it had been some years since I’d last payed this venue a visit. The guys behind the bar were polite and friendly, I ordered myself a latte to start with, then picked up a menu and selected a Bourbon Smoker triple pattie burger, ‘cheezy tater tots’ (the way is’s written on the menu) some giant homemade onion rings and a pint of lemonade for the big lad on table 10. Food came within good time and was absolutely spot on, venue is comfortable, clean and a nice place to eat/chill out, ambiance pretty good, music played but not excessively loud, the HOS Quayside is definitely worth a visit, although a tad pricey for soft drinks!"

"A salsa class went to the front of the restaurant when we arrived, which surprised us. However, there was no obligation to join, although the invitation was made. We were located on the back of the restaurant and enjoyed an excellent meal: all freshly cooked and beautifully presented."

"My daughter and I visited today and were pleasantly surprised, from the outside this hidden gem looks a little down, but when they enter through the doors they enter the food sky. the food was delicious, highly recommend the vegan stew and vegan hot chocolate. we have come to the brazen after we have been sedated by vegan chocolate cake! I can't wait to get back to my new favorite place"
