Situated in an old home with funky decor, two bars, and tables located in several rooms on two diffrent floors, this not-your-typical Mexican restaurant is a fun place to have dinner drinks with friends... The sticky ribs appetizer is NOT to be missed under any circumstance; the entrees are well-prepared, although the quacamole is disappointingly average Service is fast and friendly, the atmosphere loud and boisterous. The place gets crowded quickly and the bars are very cramped. Drinks are ok, tending to be be on the weak side, but beer selection is decent."

"In the last two weeks we have been here a few times and it is definitely one of the best breakfast places in the city. What do I love? Consistent, friendly, attentive service even if they? I am full. Note: If they are overcrowded, are you asked to order food? not only coffee, finally there are limited seating and it? what makes the place charming so go with it or not go. I went with him and appreciated the chance to keep my place with an order of delicious eggs breakfast I had never tried. Coffee! Simple brew but always delicious, never burned and full of taste! The cups they serve coffee make you want to stay and vice versa! I prefer this place if he's less busy than Sunday? but love the character, the charm and the fullness of the place! Weekdays are my favorite here! Fresh ingredients from bread to meat, cheese and herbs you can steal the difference in your 15$ breakfast here vs a 8$ somewhere else I take the fare 15$ breakfast with taste and freshness as not otherwise So rare to find!"

I felt that the damped mushes were good, simply exaggerated by garlic and for me to say that it was alot of garlic. if I want to spend money on meeresfruit I want to taste it. two mushes were partially opened. made me leary to eat them, but I did it anyway. bisque had no lobsters as expected, but it was good. it didn't show a cheese as an ingredient, but I felt I could taste cheese. Maybe it was the heavy one and spiced. the croutons were a welcome topping to cut the strong aromes. hubby enjoyed his steamer and didn't whip while they were sacrificing them. "A must try....and then back! I chose the hungry monkey based on the reviews here and I'm glad I did it! the place has a fun and invites in the atmosphere. I have the filled monkey-brot French toast and a side of the home. the French toast came out when 3 thick slices of French toast stacked with sweetened cream cheese and intercuted apples. it was perfect. the homefries were small in comparison, but it was still a good amount. both were very good and very full. on the chalkboard wall I believe they have listed their special areas. one of them was a reuben omelette and another was a buffalo chicken cheese grilled! the hungry monkey is just one of those places they need...read more"

"Visiting Newport and came to this place last night for a drink, and wanted to come back for dinner tonight. First, my husband and I both didn't enjoy our drinks from yesterday blueberry mule and whiskey sour), but we liked the atmosphere of the place so we decided to give it another chance for dinner. The decor is cool but it was hot and musty inside. We were sat right away, but it took a rather long time for a server to grab out orders. We ordered our drinks and food at the same time as we had a feeling from the beginning things would be on the slower side. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and my husband ordered a burger with cheese $1 extra) and bacon $2) extra. My quesadilla was a quesadilla, not much to mess up with a tortilla and cheese, but I will say it's quite evident the chicken they used was microwaved out of a bag. My husband ordered his burger medium rare, it came the first time around well done and burnt to a crisp. We sent it back and finally when it came back, it was still burnt to a crisp on the outside, but inside was rare as can be. Overall service was pretty sub par, the manager never came over to apologize for the food being sent back, just walked by and gave us weird looks a few times."
