"We were enjoying a week's wine tasting and touring in Alsace and came upon this excellent restaurant by chance. We'd only meant to stop to 'boire un coup' but our French friend insisted that he eat at noon - too early for us - so we had a tiff, stayed to eat and boy were we glad! Excellent service and superb food. A rillette to start followed by a lovely pork dish in a delicious creamy sauce. This was the plat du jour and was about 11 euros for three courses. The wine by the 'picher' was also superb. This is a must visit for lovers of good, unpretentious food. There's also a super upstairs 'salon' where we much enjoyed our Alsace Riesling."

"This place sells wonderful homestyle (if you live in Alsace) meals in aluminium pans to take away and eat in your rented apartment. A few sample items from October: Oct 14 blanquette de poisson, Oct 16 jarret de veau brasé, Oct 19 roti de port, Oct 21 salmon en sauce, Oct 26 baeckeoffe aux 3 viande, Oct 27 cordon bleu, Nov 3 navarin d'agneau with gnocchi, and many others. The plat du jour changes daily. Each serving is 7€ or 8€, a real bargain for a very generous serving. Go in the morning and reserve your meal to avoid disappointment. This is a take away only, no eat in at all. If you think it might be nice to skip a restaurant night and give the pocketbook a breather, this is a perfect choice. Both proprietors speak fluent English."

"We came here as we'd been walking in the surrounding countryside and were in need of a bit of R&R. The service was great, friendly and efficient. We opted for the fixed menu at lunch and were not disappointed, the portions were colossal! Everything was well cooked and very very tasty."
