"Our group of 12 ate here on a Sunday night after 8pm when all other restaurants were closed. It was a good experience sitting indoors. Toilet was clean. Service was prompt though place was busy. You can tell it's professionally run. Beer selection was good. Highly recommended, especially if you need a place at an odd timing without reservations."

"Been to this restaurant for lunch after read the review. We ordered two big dishes, they're very salty! We asked for 2 cups of hot water to go with the food, it came as 3 CHF per cup! It was not mentioned anywhere nor pointed out by the waitress on additions charges. We then spoke with the manager before paying to point out that these charges should be clear up front, and we felt unfair with these charges. However, the manager's altitude was poorly and he was telling us that we're in the wrong country because we informed him that these charges should have been made clear at the beginning. After travelling around Switzerland for almost a month, we have never expected such a terrible customer service! Despite the waitress was very friendly and served us well, the management was terrible - not listening to suggestions (we didn't even complaint apart from the manager telling us how he runs the business by making money from drinks and so on.) We're not in the wrong country but definitely in the wrong resultant! There're better places to have food in the square, avoid this one if you don't want to be ripped off."

"The location is great and nice to sit outside and people watch but service and food are both average at best! The gnocchi a la Nona was dry and it had pieces of meat (Maybe sausage morsels) and the cannelloni bolognese was also very dry. We ordered the grande which is their "Normal size and it came In a small hot 6 x 6 white baking dish so not sure If it was previously frozen but did not taste like it was freshly prepared! We were not impressed at all!"

"The restaurant look good but it was quiet simple menu for 21chf, very small soup as starter anD sausage potato and leek for main course. good but nothing spécial. Waiter propose me à désert, i ask if it was included in thé menu hé said yes, they charged me 11 for this, and it was Not à good one (frozen réd fruits.) nobody speak good english or french so its not easy. 45CHF for lunch (2 glass of wine)i think you can get better"

"We have not been there for years (I remember it as a smoky old boozer) and wanted to check it out again. Already when entering the place you can see quite a few regulars who must have been propping up the bar for years, the rest of the crowd was rather youngish. The atmosphere was very friendly and warm, a lot of people just seating next to others who were already there and sharing a table. We just devoted ourselves to the Zwickel beer and left out any food."

"It was a very lively place for the locals. I had a sausage and kartoffel for 19 pieces and my man had the spaghetti for the same price. beer is about 7chf a glass, if you want salat or sweet, you need to buy a...Salad teller. I should have ordered it rather than my very simple one."

"We were looking for traditional Beef Stroganoff and the Concierge at Hotel Schweizerhof arranged for the Beaulieu AG restaurant to make the dish for us. It was absolutely delicious and we will visit this restaurant when we are in Bern. It is from the bustling center, but just a short walk from the hotel, more from a local restaurant. The service was excellent and the ambience was perfect, beautiful outdoor touch seating (they also have indoor) with mature trees for shade. And take a look at the men's sculpture on the rooftop terrace on the moors. Definitely recommend this restaurant."
