"If you want a cheap and fat feed, definitely come to J's Kitchen. <br/ <br/ J's Kitchen have a few menu items (e.g steak, kransky sausage) that are just $12 for a massive portion of chips (or rice), salad, complimentary sauce, and your chosen protein. Sometimes they give you two pieces of steaks! There are also some other menu items that you can get such as chicken schnitzel at a higher price.<br/ <br/ P.S: Get the dianne sauce."

"Before Cafe Rise this busy John St corner of Cabra was the location of the council's CCTV office. When that got moved to the new $13m Police Station, the new owners turned it into an old style cafe. It's had several owners since but the common denominator was zinging against the zapping of multiple pho and Asian restaurants. Here you'll get fish and chips, burgers, shakes, banana bread and cafe sandwiches. Mornings are pretty popular with cigarette wielding locals sipping coffee. "I love this place for vegan and vegetarian food. Their Phô is the best and one serve will feed two people, it’s very generous and good value for money. The ladies inside are very lovely. I visited in mid-morning and only take away was available; bit of a pity as it was raining and I couldn’t enjoy my meal on-site. Otherwise things were packed well for my take away meals and I will visit again soon."

"Food was a teeny tiny but too salty for my liking but it wasnt bad. They have your usual Thai and Lao dishes, reasonably priced. <br>
We ordered a pad Thai and tamarind soft shell crab. <br>
Pad Thai noodles are smaller than what I'm used to but overall, both good dishes<br>
MIGHY try again one day. <br>

"Stumbled upon Dong Ba and recalled the name from a recent review discussion. Unbeknownst to me at the time of entry, this particular outlet was their first, and according to the Aunty at the counter, the best one of the lot!<br>

We arrived at 2pm so the lunch crowd had long gone and staff were prepping for dinner service. In my haste, and having not received much help from the waitress who spoke very limited English, I ordered the first dish on the menu. Luckily this turned out to be their signature, and the one I had intended to try. <br>

The noodles are not your standard flat rice noodles. These are reminiscent of spaghetti, albeit made of rice, and had a surprisingly similar texture. Not sure if I prefer these over the traditional kind, but I definitely love the addition of pork hock, blood jelly and pork sausage. All the wonderful things of life in one bowl really. <br>
