"Tremendously friendly staff, attentive at all the right times. Had lovely LAO beer for the first time and definitely won't be the last. Food was outstanding especially the Beef curry with house sauce. I would recommend this place to anyone who likes ambiance and value for money with incredibly tasty food."

"I have eaten the trend at my last visit in the hamlet and ordered a carving from a bratwurstplatz. I'm rolling. it was probably my best decision of the day – the brathaus is one of the newer additions to the hamlet and offers seductive sausage and carving in German style. I chose the “Hühner schnitty Burger” – not part of the main menu, but on a whiteboard handwritten from the front (so excused if it is not a regular menu item – it should be). the scavenger is without doubt the best I had in Australians – plump, delicate bun with a beautiful crispy panko crumb. my friend saw her cook her and she said that the secret is that she...read more"

"The Alley Bar & Grill is located in the Pacific Suites Canberra and many of it's clientele are guests staying at the apartments above, although you don't have to be a hotel guest to dine here.We visited four times during our stay in Canberra (three breakfasts and one dinner).Breakfast is a buffet that includes fruits, yoghurts, cereals, pastries, toast plus bacon, sausages, mushrooms, baked beans, scrambled eggs and hash browns.  There is also a coffee machine and juices and water available.  The food was of a good standard although during busy times, there was a small delay before empty bain-marie's were replaced.  There were only two wait staff rostered on the mornings we visited which wasn't enough during busy periods. We were very happy with the quality of the food we had at dinner and the servings were huge.  Unfortunately we found the menu a little poorly written.  The Philly Cheese burger made no mention of what type of meat it was (it was beef), and the Butternut Pumpkin Ravioli was just listed as Butternut Pumpkin which meant we had to ask what it was.  The people on the table next to us were just as confused so maybe this is something that could be looked at.  Once again, for most of the night there was only one waiter on (the other was busy delivering room service orders), so service was quite slow at times.  Upon leaving we were disappointed that the free drink and dessert that were supposed to be included as part of our child's kids meal deal had been billed to our account separately.  Fortunately this was rectified without issue.I wouldn't go out of my way to dine here if I wasn't a hotel guest, but The Alley is a great addition to the apartments and caters for all ages and tastes adequately."

"I liked the premise of authentic wood fired pizzas and best pizzas in town. So off I went to sample Pizza Artigiana. This is a nice little shop with a good layout and friendly staff, good service. I just ordered two pizzas, the Margherita and another one topped with ricotta and salami. The toppings were yummy. Don 't go in expecting the oversaturated decadence of takeaway pizza. It 's simple and classic. The salami wasn 't like wow or anything. The basil and tomato sauce was also like, just ok. The let down was the crust. I was expecting some amazing woodfired goodness but it just tastes like a normal toasted pizza. The crust was toooooo salty, I threw it away. Such a waste since they are pretty small pizzas for $20 each. I had a cup of tea and 2x glasses of orange juice and my body is still rejecting the salt levels. I haven 't been to Italy so I have no way of knowing whether all authentic pizza dough is this salty. Would I go again? No, because of the salty crust. Fix that, and it 's a reasonable place to eat. Could improve to 4 or even 5 stars with less salt."

"The food was very nice, large range of sandwiches and wraps. They are made fresh and are healthy. We ordered banana bread and got charged extra for toasting."

"Chicken Schnitzel was wafer thin, the roll was full of cos lettuce to try and distract the teeny tiny schnitzel, hardly any mayonnaise. Waste of money. Go to any other great establishment in the area."

"I often pop by the Belconnen markets on the way home at the end of the day, so the pastry selection is often rather limited, but nonetheless, still delightful. My last visit I got the salted caramel cupcake and lemon meringue tart which came to $11 together. I always like to get a classic flavour such as the lemon meringue tart because its always interesting to discover where the 'best lemon meringue tart' is in Canberra, or 'best croissants' are. The lemon meringue tart had the perfect amount of lemon, and the filling wasn't set so hard, it had the perfect lemon curd texture and creaminess, yet the tartness prevented it from being sickly sweet. I have to say these are the best I've had so far. The salted caramel cupcakes was also perfectly balanced, not too sweet with the salted caramel, but nothing super special that would make me buy it again.&nbsp;<br> <br> The staff are extremely wonderful and patient, especially with me when it comes to trying to pick just a few desserts to take home, rather than one of each :P <br><br><a href="https://www.zomato.com/spoonback?u=http%3A%2F%2Fmoodandfood.wix.com%2Fblog&amp;r=26140754&amp;to=33280673&amp;k=df13ca7eacc021599e2b30985daa812b" target="_blank"><span class="left red-text">moodandfood.wix.com</span><span class="grey-text left ml5" data-icon="ŧ"></span></a>"
