"Good, but not legendary. Grade: B-/C+<br br/>The restaurant's reputation is evident by the line of people waiting to get in the door. Clean and efficient hard to do for the amount of business they do they manage to seat people with as little wait as possible and to accommodate the take away crowd with similar speed.<br br/>As far as the food, a mixed review from our group. One thought it the best fish chips outstanding, and the crisp chips the best he'd ever had. Another that the fish was crisp, not greasy, and that the oil and batter didn't overpower the taste of the fish itself. I, too, liked the crisp batter, but it seemed to me as if it needed to be hit with salt the moment it came out of the fryer, as it was mostly flavo(u)rless. My fish was actually a bit dry, too.<br br/>I had looked forward to visiting Anstruther Fish Bar perhaps more than any other restaurant we'd visit in Scotland. While the food was good, I have to say that I was a bit let-down based on the hype."

"Work in nursing at a local hospital and visit now and again for a meal, disgusted that there is no social distancing inside the store and the staff seem to not know Covid19 rules at all. No limit on how many customers are in such a small shop, no signage on safe distancing. was in the shop with four or more customers who had no masks on so chose to stand outside while I waited for my meal. two of the male staff talking at the front of the shop to customers had no masks or protective visors on. Did not feel safe at all. shop here at your own risk."

"Lovely sunny day and a wee trip through Anstruther brought us to this place. On offer were sandwiches, toasties, rolls n bacon etc. Some tables outside meant we could have a bite of lunch and our dog could sit with us. We arrived at a busy time: a large group had just left and we're replaced by lots of folk like us, all ordering at the same time. Two lovely young ladies seemed to be the only staff so we expected a long wait. Not so! Our toasties (with some crisps) and coke arrived fairly quickly and we're just what we were looking for. The added bonus was that this only cost ys £10! Advice avoid the hyped fish bars and head to this place esp if you simply want a quick, tasty wee bite."
