"CLOSED TUESDAY!! Awesome staff and food even with a two hour limit you’ll leave full. Pricey but worth it. Cold noodles were good and the spicy mixed vegetables."

"Came here with a group of eight months ago. Btw, it is a small restaurant, located behind another building, so it is hidden from the street. You might miss it when you drive, so just look for the street number. to find it. Anyway, here is my order: Started with the Tanger Peeling fish balls. These were delicious, similar sponge texture to the Filipino fishballs street food, but had a slightly different essence round the seafood taste (although not from tangent, not quite sure what it was); these fishballs also had a little drizzle of thick, sweet soy sauce. We also had an order of steamed dumplings, which were average. With regard to Entrees I have never tried Poon Choi before, but I really liked our combination of duck, pork ribs, disc pork, meatballs, taro root and other veggies, which was very hearty and filled. I also enjoyed the chicken in rice wine in a clay pot that had a beautiful, gentle, local taste. The baked scalop with egg and dried scalop was more like a delicate omelette or a savory Custard and was quite interesting. This was not my kind of dish since I don't really like egg cells but it appealed to those who do. I was not a fan of pan roasted “York Shire” roast beef with onions, tomatoes and roasted potatoes (Bland, Bland, Bland), and mutton with Chinese sausage and rice in a tone pot (fine, but nothing special). A big complaint: They offer karaoke at the evenings for their diners who are so fucking loud! I'm sorry, I'm NOT guessing people who slide on loud Chinese karaoke when our group tries to chat over dinner! Overall, Bon Marche is good, but not one of my Faves in SGV. The Karaoke Tho is unacceptable!"

"Critics and Foodies blogging throughout the internet via its small Italian branch at Garfield Avenue. So I had to try with a group of people from Pleasure Palate. Cristiano Bollini, the boss/owner has found out everything. First import a special wood burning pizza oven from Italy. Fire it with wood lace to 800 degrees. And make pizza like your grandmother in the old country. Granted, selling pizza a piece at a time is not the way to get rich quickly, but it is the way to hook people on what some think is another kind of pizza. It is, actually traditional, neopolitan pizza, the way they like to eat – you guess it- Italy! What's that? Think of thin, handcuffed, crispy crust with blows of wild mushrooms or smoked chicken and parmesan sauce. What this means is if your favorite pizza is thickly encrusted, loaded with red sauce and tons of toppings and vegetables, then don't go any further, Neoplitan can't be your style. Its menu actually recommends that you not cook more than three toppings because the thin neopolitan style pizza does not boil properly under excess toppings. Eating in this small joint is much like eating in a long, narrow Formica hallway. But it was worth it! We started with taste from his whole menu. Fire Roasted Stuffed Mushrooms, the size of the ping pong balls carved in a delicate sauce. Then a delicious Gongonzola came three leaves of salad with small pieces of corn and bacon. The Wild Mushroom Fatuccini was every bit as good as you can find on Melrose, and the Pasta del Postino, farfalle with chicken, wild mushrooms and asparagus in a gorgonzola cream sauce was good enough to write home. I asked about the sweet fennel sausage on the Nonna Pizza. “It’s a secret!”, a family recipe that the chef has prepared for his restaurant. They hope to expand in the next weeks to add more tables. On my driving scale of 0 –10 miles I give it a 20. Because sometimes I have a desire for Bollinis pizza and as far as I drive!"

"This place definitely feels like an authentic Chinese restaurant. The food and decor are much like those of restaurants in my grandmother's Oakland Chinatown neighborhood. Portions are good-sized, they have a huge menu with lots of options and interesting specials. We've tried things like squid. We never seem to leave the restaurant without feeling uncomfortably full, which I guess is our own fault. The all-you-can-eat is a great deal if you're very hungry!"

"Great pastries! Usually buy the mantau, sponge cake, Chinese donut, sesame balls, and the sesame flat Chinese donut there. Mantau is a plain steamed bread. These come in white or wheat. Love them both. They are moist and freeze well. Just make sure to steam the frozen ones when you want to eat them. Rehydrates them nicely. The sponge cake is very eggy so if you like the strong smell of whipped eggs in your sponge cake, you will love these! These cakes come plain with no decorations. Don't need any. They come in two sizes. I always get the bigger cakes. Can't get enough of them and one is good to share. Otherwise, I will eat the whole smaller one. The Chinese donut is the long fried salty donut. The hollow pockets inside are great for filling with rice porridge or coffee with condense milk or the condense milk by itself. In the rice porridge, it becomes a dumpling and adds texture to the smooth and tasty porridge. Yum! This donut needs to be eaten on the same day or it isn't great the second day. Since it is fried, the donut gets hard and oily on the second day. Can be baked and then eaten with porridge but not as good the second day. The chewiness is gone. The sesame ball came in two flavors: red bean filling black sesame on the outside) or mung bean filling white sesame on the outside). Both are tasty. Wrap is a rice dough similar in texture to mochi. The flat sesame Chinese donut is a sweet fried dough. This also needs to be eaten the same day. Very tender with a slight sweetness to the dough. Great eaten alone or with a cup of coffee with condense milk. Yum! Today, I tried the pork bao and the sweet rice with pork wrapped in bamboo leaves. These were not bad. The pork bao just has season pork and onions in it. Usually there is half an egg, a piece of black Chinese mushroom, Chinese sausage slice, and the seasoned ground pork. This one didn't have the egg, black Chinese mushroom, or Chinese sausage slice. Pork was seasoned with salt and pepper. The dough part was fluffy. These can be frozen and resteamed before eating. The wrapped sweet rice and filling was good too. The fatty pork in the sweet rice made the rice flavorful. Also has a piece of Chinese sausage and a salted egg yolk in it. Salted egg yolk is one of my favorites! These don't last so they must be eaten right away or refrigerated a day or two at most and resteamed before eating. Keeping them longer runs the risk of them going bad. This bakery also sells great filled sweet buns too. They have lotus seed, taro, or mung bean paste in the buns. Great on the day purchased or they can be frozen and resteamed prior to consumption."

"My pizza crust was almost raw.. no sign of any crunch or toastiness the crust was literally white play dough like. The slices were barely cut I had to cut it myself. Horrible.. I regret purchasing"

"This place serves the quality food in the city. order the Katsu. Sausage, Hand Roll, its more like a small part of everything here, place for foid and drinking, not for a family to emerge. No ramen menu here, there is a signpost at the entrance door, foods are delicious, service is good."

"I didn't even notice there was a small sushi takeout near the carwash by the 60 fwy. If you blinked, you would drive right past since the barber shop sign is right in front of it! LOL! The sushi is very good, you can taste the vinegar in the sushi rice and the fillings are fresh. It's a limited selection, but what they do carry is very good; the California, tempura shrimp, spicy tuna and veggie rolls salmon nigiri all were very fresh delicious! The teriyaki chicken is excellent grilled more savory than sweet. The bentos and combinations are a wonderful bargain since you get a full 8 pc sushi with green salad (or salads (green, seafood squid) plus fried gyoza, kurobuta sausage, dashi tamago potato croquette for the combo). The veggie tempura is so light and crisp the frying oil is fresh. Please be patient as the wait can be long depending on orders/platters to fulfill. The owner is the only one cooking, but one can tell that he puts a lot of care/pride into each order. My 88 yr old Japanese mom is an excellent cook, very particular she loves this place!"
