"This is in a great location by the weir and it’s fun to sit on the bar stools and watch the canoeists and swimmers in the L’Aveyron River. This could be a great place but it is a bit too laid back for my taste. Friendly service, average range of meals but it’s all a bit down at heel. Meze style starters are tasty. A good spruce up would make it very special. I recommend mosquito spray if you visit in the evening. Helpful?"

"Beautiful map displayed but unfortunately unavailable. Why then display it. On the classic menu at 14 euros exit the sausage of Toulouse and the salads. Choose from 3 basic pizzas on the fifteenth menu. A great waiting time, the waitress being alone for the inside and outside. The small entrance salad with good products is drowned in a basic balsamic and pizza is too salty. Too bad because the frame is sumptuous."

"A lovely lunch with Fred and Fred. A generous portion of fresh and tasty gazpacho served with a bowl of taboulé. Just what the hot weather demanded. Then a superb crème brûlée, delicately flavoured with orange, with the brûlée done at the table. A shady terrace, a warm welcome and great coffee to finish. We will be regular customers."

"After parking near the River Bonnette, we followed the signs to this good restaurant not located on a main walking route. While many restaurants stop seating at 1:30 this restaurant was happy to seat us close to 2PM. The waitress was kindly receptive to my poor French and spoke English when helpful. We enjoyed a three course set menu for lunch plus wine for €13 each. Our main course was tomates farcies (stuffed tomato) with small sides of rice, green beans and another vegetable. It was so good. The dessert course was chocolate eclairs or apple pie. The restaurant was modest, authentic and great value, one of our best and memorable meals on this visit to France."

"We have eaten at the Guinguette many, many times and have sent friends and family to eat there too Today, however, we were told never to come back because we complained about a maggot in the salad and the uncooked meat. The patron, who could easily give Basil Faulty a run for his money, said that he couldn’t see the problem with the maggot, insisting that it was “only a little one”! He even wanted to show me where the maggot came from. Incredible!! Nasty, never going back."
