"What a con. £3.10 for a cuppuccino which was made with a machine, just press A button and it “makes” a cappuccino in three seconds. Nothing more than an instant Nescafé with Cadbury’s hot chocolate sprinkles on frothed up milk (not traditional steamed milk). The carrot cake might have been nice three days ago when it was made. Tables were also filthy and had what looked like bogeys on them."

"Freshly cooked cod and chips. Tasted beautiful. Service was friendly and happy to help. Served piping hot. Topped with a splash of salt and vinegar. If you want enjoy you fish n chips I would highly recommend here."

"I ordered a takeaway as I have used oscars many times before but when I received it I was discounted as the fish and onion rings were very greasy and the chips were soggy not an enjoyable meal I ate it as I was hungry but won’t be ordering this food again."

"Lovely food, shame they cannot get the orders correct. Every order we have ever had has been incorrectly served. Last year I collected order, took back to our holiday home (since 1977) rang the takeaway to tell them that a large cod was missing. I was told I was wrong and they were right. Eventually they reluctantly gave me the missing fish, which I collected 0.6 miles. This has happened on every order, I have not questioned it since as large value items were mostly correct on orders. Line person (female) on till has bagged and I believe processed the incorrect orders on all occasions. We do not get given an itemized receipt. My wife was with me this evening and we joked “ I wonder if the order will be right, we will repeat back when ready” He presto, order was for items including battered sausage. No! Battered sausage was I plain sausage. The food and the vibe when visiting this restaurant for collection is great and is obviously loved by locals, but why has every large order we have ever had been incorrectly served?"

"We were trying to get into the cafe opposite as it had tables in the sun, and it wasn’t immediately obvious where the entrance to the Almshouse is (10 yards down street). The outside seating doesn’t look as appealing as it’s neighbor but once inside it’s a different story. A really nice menu with an excellent selection of cakes and sandwiches and great coffee, served by friendly staff. The Almshouse itself is really pretty inside, with a bookshop, and spiral staircase taking you to more seating. Next time we’re in Axbridge we’ll be heading straight there!"

"A special treat and always a high point of our stay in Bridgwater. Brilliant fish with superb chips. The customer throughput is large so the food is almost always fresh and tasty. We've never had anything other than superb meals."
