"Not the easiest place to get to, stuck in the middle of nowhere. The road in is always flooded, so we always have to go the long way round. Definitely worth the trip though. The staff are attentive, but not too on top. Some places can really thrash your head, constantly asking if everything is ok, etc. Here at The Rythre, it's fairly casual, but still enough to make every customer feel special. The food is all cooked beautifully and came out timely. I assume the night we went Valentine's Day, is busier than usual. No problems with the service though. The starters were special, very well presented. I had the haggis bon bons. So succulent, they just started falling apart. The sauce accompaniment was spot on. Main courses we shared the 38 ounce T bone. Came very tender and plenty of red on show, just how we like it. My wife was particularly fond of the homemade chips. Very flfuffy and the size of doorsteps. We added extra sides of the onion rings, which came crispier than expected, but they were very nice. Also, some garlic mushrooms, which came nice and soft and slid down our throats. Portions were massive, but I persevered and finished everything. The check wasn't as massive as I expected. All in all a lovely way to spend a special day with the special lady in my life."
