"The food is delicious, but the service... Eh. My husband called to make reservations for a special occasion. He specifically asked to be indoors, they said no problem. We arrive, we're seated outside on a ramp walkway. A walkway!! Nothing like sitting slightly downhill/uphill from your food haha. I didn't mind the outside bit, it was nice out (didn't know he had specifically requested inside at the time though so I get his frustration). However, being level with your table seems like it should be a no brainer. Whatever, he planned a special meal so I didn't make a big deal about it, nothing like a little neck/back strain with your dinner. However, thinking about it, when you consider the cost, especially when you're ordering $180 steak, it does seem pretty silly. Maybe they gave our table to someone else and just slapped this table together, who knows. Server was great at the beginning, but after the appetizer, we only saw him every 25min or so. I think they may have sat too many people in his section so probably not entirely his fault. But definitely irritating to see tables next to us getting a significantly greater amount of attention from their waiter. Scallop dish was divine. Mac and cheese was good, but a little too rich in my opinion. Wagyu was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. So is the food great? Yes. Am I dying to go back? Meh, probably not."

"Nice spot, just call ahead for an updated menu, or go to the actual website, the menu I saw online (google maps) was completely different from what I saw at the restaurant. I ordered the mixed field greens with shrimp, the shrimp was well seasoned I really enjoyed it. I also ordered the Ruby Rickey cocktail which was okay. Overall I?ll rate this a 4.5 took .5 off due to the menu change, What I really wanted to order was on the older menu"

"Tucked away in the back streets of Laguna Beach, Rebel Omakase is a high-end sushi restaurant with an exclusive feel. The mirrored windows of the small space reveal nothing from the outside, and the door remains mysteriously locked until your appointed reservation time. Once inside, a dimly lit minimalist aesthetic accentuates the sleek, modernist sushi counter. The number of seats is limited to about 12 people, which adds to the exclusivity and ambiance. The omakase menu, of about 12 courses, is a journey through the art of sushi. It includes a variety of elegantly served seafood and wagyu beef, all cut precisely, ensuring each bite size course is a delightful and manageable experience. The meal started with a stylized salad, followed by sashimi and a soothing clear clam soup that more closely resembled a calming tea.The raw selections, such as bluefin, sea bass, snapper, kampachi, and scallop, were outstanding. While the cooked offerings, including a unique bite-sized stone crab claw served in the shell, and a cup of chawanmushi (a pudding with mushrooms and scallops) brought welcome variety, they were a bit bland. For desert, we were treated to a bite of the luxurious crown melon, followed by some flavorful ice cream. Service is very good, with servers being attentive, but not overbearing. They were appropriately conversational and had good recommendations regarding the drink menu, and were ready to explain any dish that was served.At $200+ per person, excluding drinks, tax, and tip, the experience at Rebel Omakase is about appreciating the well-above-average quality of fish and the solid talents of the chef team. Overall, Rebel Omakase is an interesting refined and modern take on traditional sushi omakase. It is definitely a unique experience."
