"Came here multiple times for their beef and green onion pancake and cold sesame noodles, along with some boiled chive dumplings. Very good tasting. Easy and convenient. Location is new and lots of seating."

"Went for lunch, they offer AYCE or a la carte. The AYCE option does not offer as many choices as other restaurants . In a plaza at Woodbine 16th, so there is ample parking, wheelchair accessible, not a large restaurant. The service is very...good, dishes have a good taste, sushi rolls, sushi, tempura, grilled, teppanyaki, noodle ramen/udon, rice bowl choices. Please note that they automatically add a service charge. For the price , there are other restaurants which offer more choices."

"Love everything about this place, mid range pricing. It is actually double the price of Bento box that you would get from Makimono but they have big portions of sashimi. I would go back again to try other food on their menu, it is...really nice that they didn’t hurry us up or bothered us."

"I planned a birthday dinner for a friend and was excited based on the reviews and the menu. We arrived just after they opened. Straight away I was hit with the strong smell of cigarettes that lingered in the air. I then saw two blank faces at the sushi bar, and nearly hidden from view, a person lying across a booth seat on the phone. Feeling the awkward silence, I hesitantly and regretfully asked for a table. The person at the booth, still hidden from view, calls out “sit anywhere”. Next, from the bar they call out the machine was broken so cash only. They gave us an excuse to leave the restaurant politely.Even if they had just opened shop, I was taken back by the level of customer service having worked in a restaurant myself. But I was most shocked and disgusted about the cigarette smell and couldn’t have left fast enough."

"Tried this new hot pot spot today. Got the tomato and spicy fish soup base. Well worth with just the right amount of kick. My friend got his super spicy so spicy make you wanna smack yo mamma!! Highly recommend this place"

"Very friendly service and better than average sushi. They always pickup the phone to take orders even though their store is closed. And they're patient with questions. Fish is fresh-er on Fridays (IMO). Unfortunately, I've had experienced where the seaweed is very soft as if the sushi platter has been sitting into the fridge ready for pickup for longer than expected."

"Atmosphere and ambience is a lost trait in restaurants nowadays. Gonoe Sushi does a great job at creating a special environment from the moment you step through the door. Their service is quick and have a very polite approach.I didn’t see any vegan options at first, but was able to pin point their Tofu Teryaki dish which came with miso soup, house salad and a side of rice. I also ordered a plate of avocado rolls.Very delicious food with great flavour. Will definitely visit again!"
