"We had a truly memorable meal. The waiter for our table (27) took the time to explain the courses and the sommelier provided information on the wines served. The courses were relatively small but as this was a 8 course dinner (menu découverte) the portions were exactly the right size. All tables have a view on the sea, some "first row "but even 2nd row (like ours) still provide a view on the sea. In any case: you should pay more attention to what is on your plate as that is truly what is important at Le Balbec. All dishes make use of the freshest products and cooked to perfection (and very nicely placed on the plates). So thanks to the Balbec team. We will be back and recommend Le Balbec to our friends!"

"Le Hastings was a great find. After a day touring around Normandy the fact that it was close to our hotel was a draw. We found the food excellent. both the cod and the scallops were delicious. The surprise of the evening was the goat cheese salad, it was warm and oh so good.Would not hesitate to recommend Le Hastings !"

"Lunch in the morning on a Tuesday and I was very surprised how many restaurants were closed. the central brasserie was occupied by French natives. the atmosphere is great and the service is impeccable. Unfortunately, eating was quite disappointing. it can be good...that I chose the wrong things from the menu-complete, with Euro supplement for the poelee de St.Jacques I chose to start the garnel and molken en shell with mayo. the main course, with the addition of euro above, was scallops, grilled garnels on the top of the tagliatelle in a cream sauce. the sose was, I fear, tasteless and unseasonal. the red wine saumur at euro) was very good. the atmosphere is brilliant, like the service. slick and efficient. will I have gone? yes, but I would certainly choose something else!"
