"It looked fantastic, but the meat was mainly fat, the Yorkshire was okay, then the rest of the plate was all jus/carrot purée/ two tiny potatoes and a tiny pot of brocolli and cauliflower cheese was shared (which was bland). Where are all the proper veggies? The purées mushed tiny portion of red cabbage on the plate just mixed in with the gravy and couldn’t be tasted. One of us had the veggie ‘cauliflour steak’ and it was just a plate of cauliflour with some cut up grapes on top?! Also the children’s Sunday dinner was £10.95. So disappointing. Have 2 stars as the atmosphere is lovely, staff are lovely and place is cosy and inviting but the food is all fur coat and no knickers."

"Nice food and waiting staff very personable. Overcharged for drinks and when I pointed this out to young guy in bar dark curly hair), when paying bill he appeared reluctant to acknowledge that we’d been charged twice for our lemonade and beer, he did...eventually take it off the bill but didn’t apologise . ."

"Nice pub, delicious food. Only thing I didn't give 5 stars for is that I am not keen on the sharing of vegetables. I enjoy vegetables as a main part of my food and sharing a portion between 3 didn't allow much, quite a measley portion considering the cost of the lunch."

"Now I had a proper review, last night I had and cazzy tried joplins for the first time ever, it is safe to say that we were not disappointed, the place had a nice atmosphere and welcome, attentive workers who also had good knowledge about the menu that they then sat us through them and gave us a menu and showed us a board in readable remove it was easy, but there was enough for a starter, personally after eating, it made me ready for my main course, as it excited my taste buds and ready for the main course, or in this case the stopper! (because we had 3 appetizers between 2 of us, they also brought a few extra tellers to share for us! the showstopper! after the appetizers they then gave us an urgently needed break before the main course when we slipped with this glorious food from the reality into the sky, our main courses were then brought, steak my best friend had the steak main, (she was asked how she cooked it before she was made straight again, she was made in silence on the first bite, which means she could go there, it's good. but then because 's joplins malibu sauce the monks and king garnels weren't even undershadowed by this amazing soße, as the aromen were all perfect strokes and there was enough fish in the dish for what we paid we both will definitely be back next time in great ayton and I personally would recommend it if they appreciate good quality eating"
