"We were given a jug of iced water with lemon whilst waiting for our friends to arrive. They shared baked Camembert with pickle and lovely looking bread. We had crab on sourdough toast. Very good. Then two had the fish finger sandwiches which were very reasonably priced and looked delicious but were hard to eat without getting very messy. I had steak sandwich with chips at £14.50. Unfortunately the steak was fatty, grisly and in some parts very rare, almost raw. I couldn’t bite through it and so took it out and cut it up as best I could but even the knife wouldn’t cut through parts of it. So, unfortunately not a good experience. The bits I could eat were nice with a good flavour from the grill. Nice pub with interesting menu."

"My friend and I were here for lunch on holiday. the location could not be more beautiful, with views of the beach and eastern sohlen. the staff was knowledgeable, friendly and could not have been more helpful. they have highlighted separate vegetarian menu with vegan options. they will also be all vegetarian appetizers and willing to be vegan. eating is incredible and the personal is really interested in hearing about veganism and understanding what they can do to offer more choice for vegans. we have recommended some different things they could try to include a local cheese supplier, and they took all the details and seemed to explore more. a really positive experience and they are dog friendly! updated by the previous review on 2018-04-26"

"Classic village pub, no gimmicks, not pretentious. We both had the ale steak pie. The contents were good quality, as were the vegs, but the suet pastry was so hard it was difficult to cut impossible to stick a fork into to pick it up. When we told the senior waitress she said it shouldn’t be like that, told the chef who said they are all the same, and we were delivered a steak knife. This was not quite the reaction we expected, certainly not the answer to extremely hard pastry I noticed that the lady on the next table ate the pie contents but left half of the pastry, so I don’t think it was just us). Spoilt an otherwise nice experience."
